Gah!?!? No DBZ Budokai II for Gamecube?

    Like This Thread!
I hate Atari right now. Not only is DBZ Budokai II still 39.99 (dropped 10 bucks recently) for PS2 but there are also no plans for it to come out on Gamecube. I don't want to spend 39.99 on a PS2 game! The price probably wont drop until Budokai III comes out (why 3 and not GT?). Lame...

Atari didn`t make the first until it was year old so they could doing the same whit the second one. But I share in your hate for atari. Espiclay how they screw GC fans out of the godzilla sequel.

I was mad when they "improved" Godzilla for Xbox as well.

Even though the game wouldn't be out until at least fall if it were coming out they would have annouced it with the other 3 Dragonball Z titles. So I assume it wont be released. Maybe the GCN version didn't sell well. It did okay in the charts from what I saw but if it didn't sell it's no suprise given that there weren't any extras and it came out a year after the PS2 version. That's practially asking for the game to flop.

Honestly, I don't see how you could get mad at them not releasing such a bad game. I love the Super Famicom DBZ games, as they are really solid fighters, but Atari's stuff is garbage. Get SuperSonic Warriors for the GBA, its being made by Banpresto.

One less bad game is always a good thing...

There are plenty of other good titles coming for GC...like Custom Robo...

It's no Hyper Dimensions for sure but I love Budokai II and I really wanted it to come out on GCN like the first game did.

I question if you guys have played the new DBZ games by Atari. Budokai is actually a good game. We go and look at just about any other DBZ game, crap. Atari has actually made, IMHO, the 3 best DBZ games, Legacy of Goku II, and the 2 Budokai games. They aren't great games by any means, but they're so much better then every other DBZ game.

I liked these DBZ titles besides Budokai:

Hyper Dimention (One of the best Super Famicom fighters)
UB 22 (The best DBZ fighter until Budokai)
Legends (3 Vs. 3 hardcore fighting, a great concept that needed more work)

I was unfortunately suckered into buying Budokai for the GCN, as I have a renewed interest in the DB series, and the game is just a huge button smasher with no actual gameplay value. Sure, most fighters are button smashers, but there is elegance to the way they play, and I wish the moves had been as simple as the MvC series; then I might of liked it. And yes, its definitely no HD, and I don't think Atari will ever make a DB game of that caliber...

Whats funny is, when I got my Saturn, I instantly when out and imported Legends. Sure, the gameplay is less than stellar, but it had really cool scripted moves after you beat the enemy.

I've played em and I still think they suck. Atari spent so much time on the visuals and ended up with sloppy controls and play physics.

Legacy of Goku was the worst. Why do I have to kill snakes and rats? Pointless crap I don't want to do just to level up for 2 or 3 major battles. Then again it didn't compare to the mind numbing experience that was Yu Yu Hakusho for the GBA.

I'm shedding no tears over this. I'm getting burnt out on the whole "Dragon Ball" thing anyway.

Besides, I find myself spending more and more time with the superb GBA RPG titles.
A smoothie would really hit the spot right now.

Any DBZ fan will tell you Hyper Dimension is the best game of the series. You must not have played it, or any of the other Super Famicom games. They are vastly superior to any Atair DBZ game.

You can't expect all games to come out on every console. Suck it up and buy it for PS2.
    And stay out of Riverdale!

I don't expect all games to come out for every console but the first one came out on GCN. Why not the second? The sales for the GCN game were good enough.

Well, you see how 3rd party has ben acting funny toward N lately. They don`t care if their games do well or bad on the GC. They wonna act like jerks cause they all just envy N. If atari is relly smart they makes DBZB3 for the GC and release it the sametime they release the ps2 version. But E3 is not too far away so anything can happend.
