It should work, but make sure you have the latest verison of the boot disc before you sell it and get another one.
Hey, I'm hoping some of you DC gurus out there can give me a little help on an issue I have.
See, I recently ordered a Dreamcast from eBay to replace my old one, which was destroyed in what has come to be known among the dwellers of my apartment complex as The Great Waterbed Incident.
Well, it came in the mail last week, and it works perfectly fine except for one particular-- it won't play either of my import games (Guilty Gear X and Rez). I have both a Gameshark CDX and a burned boot disc to allow the playing of import games, and neither of them seem to work even though both worked fine on my old system.
So I'm guessing I probably got a newer model or some such, which has extra measures against boot discs, which makes sense as piracy protection, but darn it, I actually OWN the games I'm trying to play!
So I'm considering just selling this system to Bookman's and turning around and using the credit to buy another one which will hopefully play my imports, but before I do that I just wanted to check and see if anybody around here knows of any other way to get around this vexing little problem.
Thanks in advance!

Get the Pelican Code Vault for the Dreamcast. That works great with everything I ever imported/bootleged.
What about that CDX or something that allowed you to play imported games?

That's what I have-- it worked fine on every other Dreamcast system I've tried it on, but not this latest one for some reason.Originally Posted by Proto DUDE
This may sound stupid, but if all else fails you could try getting an imported Dreamcast.
That's not stupid, but it would cost more than getting either an older model DC, or an newer print of CDX or Pelican CV.
Now I'm spoiled for the OVA, and I've only watched the original "Bubbles Vanderbilt" series and the followup "Bubbles Vanderbilt Z"

I have another question, as well... what happened to the first two Bubbles Vanderbilts?

I will PM you a link (you may already know it), but it has a download for numerous boot discs I suggest using the Utopia boot disc. Get the latest verison and see if that makes a differnt. I would post the link here, but it the site also contains emulators for Dreamcast and I don't think emulation is something to post about here.Originally Posted by Mynd Hed
