Well, there are a lot in anime (espically ones made by... ehhh, you know which companies) but if you're talking about cartoons, I would probably say permantley cutting the Osama Bin Laden scene from the Family Guy Episode "Road To Rhode Island". Yeah, I can understand not letting it slide because of 9/11 for that time period, but it should air today. No question on that.
It may not be the worst, but it's quite possibly the most infamous.
Tenchi Muyo on Toonami. The 2 edits that became fuel for inside jokes for Toonami fans all over.
When the Tenchi crew were drinking 'Tea'. And let's not forget the digital bikinis.
Return of the Joker, hands down. That wack job should go into the dictionary next to "over-reaction". Some of the edits were so ridiculous (editing the word "girlfriend") it's sickening.
Television Blows. So enjoy it.

The cards in dubbed Yu-Gi-Oh! (For those who don't know, originally the cards had the name on top, picture in the center, description at the bottom-left (or bottom for Spell and Trap cards) and the ATK and DEF numbers in two seperate columns at the bottom-right. In the dub, the card is just an enlarged picture with the Type Symbol at the bottom. For monsters, it has the ATK and DEF in two seperate columns horizontally and the level stars below the picture. Must've been hell.)
You think THAT edit in Yu-Gi-Oh was bad? HA! Try that episode with the mask brothers! "Your life points are counted on a magic black box! When they reach zero, the floor under you will shatter and send you to the Shadow Realm!"Originally Posted by Loser

I think this should exclude shows that were just dubbed bad, we've already had plenty of topics for that. Worse change from an uncut version to an editted version was Usui's death on Ruroni Kenshin. Rather than being stabbed and held to the wall by a sword, he's held on to the wall for no reason.![]()
There was an edit in one of the unaired episodes, which aired recently on the NICK channel of The Angry Beavers episode "Driving Miss Daggett". The opening scene with Norb's golf ball knocking the presidents' heads off of Mt. Rushmore was cut out. I have the episode uncut though.
Nickelodeon also edits the Halloween episode "The Day the Earth Got Screwed Up" when shown nowadays. The original title sequence was replaced with the regular TAB opening, and the end title sequence with the narrator was cut, and Dag realizing he forgot to get Oxnard Montovo's autograph cut out.
Again, I have the uncut version.

The worst edit ever is hands down InvaderZim's edit. And because of it Jhonen cancelled it.
CURSE YOU 9/11!!!! CURSE YOU!

What about Sam and Max: Freelance Police? I don't recall any edits from the originals of the show to the aired version, but the source material had major edits going into it. You would really expect to see the "None of your damn business" quote going on.

Jhonen didn't cancel the show, Nick did. I don't know where you got that idea.Originally Posted by DemonKrowno

Probably the worst edit was Cartoon Network muting out the Dad yelling Damn it! on an episode of Cow and Chicken. The strange thing about it is that they let it slide the first time.
I know plenty of others, including the cuts on Looney Tunes, but I'm on borrowed time.

as i understood it,in the contract it stated there would be no edits to the show...but when 9/11 rolled around,Nick took action, and Jhonen pulled it,as was legally binding to do so. Also understood Jhonen hated working on animation anyway...yeah...Originally Posted by HumanWormbaby

The cancellation of ZIM wasn't just based on one thing. The reasons might haveincluded a lack of ratings for kids 6-11, among other things. While I'm not really sure why ZIM was cancelled, what I am sure of is that Jhonen didn't cancel ZIM. Nick did. That information came straight out of the staff's mouth...or typing hands.
Jhonen probably didn't like that his show was being edited (I've never talked to him, so I wouldn't know), but he wouldn't cancel the show over a few edits.
