In "Is It College Yet?" the lesbian content was edited out and a couple of lines.
But a few mnoths ago it was shown uncut.![]()
Pabcool has a few threads with edits in some episodes...I'm too lazy to look for them, though.
Maybe he'll find them for you.![]()

They changed a tittle from. The F word to Fail
and they removed a line at the end of the babysitting one where The kids were about to rhyme it with a certain word that begins with S and ends with hit
It's not like they make big edits on Daria for the N, but I feel that since they've decided to air the series, they should at least remember that it was not exactly aimed at children and early teens and should really refrain from any major edits. Or any edits at all if they can help it.
By N you mean nickelodeon?
There haven't been Major edits. Mostly stupid stuff like if they say dammit or hell they change it or just edit it out completely. Nothing major anyone would notice unless you're a diehard fan like myself who has seen every episode ad nauseum and know when something is missing. I suppose it's just because its on a 'preteen' network vs. MTV.
I am wondering if anyone knows if there are dvds or tapes for sale of the shows?

There's this one edit in the episode "Fire!" that I can't stand. There's this scene where Jane is talking to Daria and she says, "They tried to break you, dammit!" But in the edited version, she says, "They tried to break you-" and it was cut off so abruptly it was unbelievable. Oh yeah, The-N also skipped about 12 episodes.

Skipped episodes and edits. Forget it. I wonder if Daria will ever get an uncensored DVD release in season sets.
And stay out of Riverdale!
I heard that the episode where everyone thinks that Daria and Tom slept together was banned on The-N because of the sexual nature. And I think "The Teachings of Don Jake" (one of my favorite episodes) cut the part where Jake tells the campfire story because of the line, "The selfish old bastard was wasted again!"Originally Posted by DarkPoet89

What lesbian content? The only edit I'm familiar with in the Daria movies is the one on Is It Fall Yet where Alison reveals to Jane that she's a bisexual and she has a crush on Jane.Originally Posted by Pustli0

My understanding is that this is very unlikely. Because Daria used a lot of contemporary pop music (for example, the paintball episode used a version of Will Smith's "Getting Jiggy With It") it would be copyright hell to release it on DVD. Viacom would either have to renegotiate for every song they used to get the rights to use it in a different medium than under the original agreement, or they'd have to pay to have new music written to replace the copyrighted music they used. Either would cut into their profit margins, and the latter would adversely affect the show and might not even be possible if they didn't keep a separate voice track to dub over the music.Originally Posted by ShawnHopkins

Edit lists? Here you go...
Daria Edit List 1: Is It Fall Yet? (Movie 1)
Edit List 2: The Lost Girls. (#305)
Check those out.
I stopped the edit lists after the rare unedited showing of the former, but plan to continue soon, starting with a "banned episodes" special.
