Another Week, another talkback for the new Adult Animation Block From TNN (Which Will Soon Be Spike TV, because they won the Lawsuit). And what's the schedule this week, you ask? Here it is...
10:00- Ren And Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon: "Man's Best Friend"/"Big House Blues"
10:30- Gary The Rat: "Rat Day Afternoon"
11:00- Stripperella: "Everybody Loves Pushy"
11:30- Ren and Stimpy Uncut: "In The Army"/"Powdered Toast Man"
Will this week bring The Strip out of Mediocrity and into actual goodness? Probably not, but if you watch it, post you're opinions here.
Edit: Changed the R&S APC since it was wrong. That's what I get for checking at the TVtome.com page.

I been wondering, how were the ratings from last week? Did they drop from the first week?
"I see no, feel no evil

Unleach a million faces
And one by one they fall"
I was right! It is "Man's Best Friend" that's playing. Well we know that this episode is good. DianaGohan, you should check out the TNN schedules.
What the hell? They're taking classic R&S episodes and trying to pass it off as the "Adult Party Cartoon"?? Lame!
HOLY CRAP!!! Classic R&S in the APC slot!
Gary time!
Weird quote of the moment
YYYYAAAAAYYYY!!!!!
I was three of the movies before they were dubbed.
That's because "Man's Best Friend" hasn't been shown before (well technically it was shown at the party some time ago but other then that, it hasn't been shown).
"I see no, feel no evil
Black writing on the wall
Unleach a million faces
And one by one they fall"
Was that an error?? They just said that Ren And Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon was next!

Review of The Strip:
1. Ren & Stimpy - "Man's Best Friend/The Big Sleep" - While the "Big Sleep" is a classic, I thought "Man's Best Friend" was just all right, even though that final scene with George Liquor was great. Rating: B
2. Gary the Rat - "Rat Day Afternoon" - This one was hilarious, and very, very fun to watch. I'm loving this show. Rating: A
3. Stripperella - "Everybody Loves Pushy" - The villian wasn't that great, even though this episode was a bit more entertaining than the last. The animation is still top-notch, but this show has a long way to go. Rating: D+
4. Classic Ren and Stimpy - "In the Army/Powdered Toast Man" - I'm pissed. During this episode I noticed numerous edits for time - the peeling scenes were shortened, Ren struggling in the mud was shortened, and most of all, the shot scene was cut completely (that was one of my favorite parts too). This classic episode gets knocked a few notches for that reason. Rating: A+ (without edits)/B (with edits)
Old Episodes That Are Passed Off As New in The Ren And Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon Review of "Man's Best Friend"/"Big House Blues".
So we get the unaired Nick Episode and The Pilot Episode this time around. That's fine. "Man's Best Friend" was alright. George Liquor was a hell of a lot diffrent then I pictured him to be, but that's okay. Some of it was dry, but nothing really sickening. Best parts were Ren smacking George with the Oar and George punishing ren by giving him $20 dollars. I give it a B-. As for Big House Blues, nothing really spectacular. The plot was basic, and the humor style seems a lot diffrent (well it was the pilot). The only thing I really laughed at was Ren overreacting to the Big Sleep. I give it a C+, which makes this episode a B-- overall.
A Gay Son And A Bank Robbery Make Up The Gary The Rat Episode Review of "Rat Day Afternoon".
Well on the upside, the plot was intresting (and the Rat Exterminator did something a little bit diffrent this time around) with that Law Firm's owner's son hanging around with Gary and them getting to know each other. Pluses were the various dialogue exchanges and Gary smacking that guy with his tail. Also, the art style was a lot better from last episode. I would give this overall a B+
New Strippers And Evil Fashion Designer's Plans = Stripperella Episode Review of "Everybody Loves Pushy".
You know, this show works best with a lot of rapid super hero/ secrent agent parody jokes, and strays away from the strip club. The new girl was very meh, but the Pushy Fashion Designer was somewhat fun (espically keeping 4 arms in her coat, which was pretty weird). I give this episode a B-.
Well it's official: While none of the new shows suck, they are all stuck in the "average" gear and need a major boost if they want to become more well liked. Espically from others.
R&S
I think the (relative) newness of Man's Best Friend to TV and the uncut nature of Big House Blues put it in the "Cartoon Party" slot. Plus, they're probably padding the 10 PM slot to make up for there being only so many new R&Ss made so far.
Plus, as we saw from 11:30, the Classic ones DO get cut, so "uncut" is likely just a 10:00 thing.
I liked M'sBF. It didn't have as much punch to it (figuratively!), but it was funny and fun to watch. My favorite parts were the fish in the car (again with the man-voiced li'l animals) and Ren's extreme take with the...nerve endings??... coming out of his tongue.
The other one... uncut. When still-asleep Ren was all kissy-lips (to coin an icky phrase), he kinda looked like Peter Lorre, whose voice is parodied in Ren's voice. Intentional?
Gary The Rat
Even though I thought of this as -eh- the first episode, the last 2 were actually pretty good.
"This even newer signature is really quite lame."
"LAME!!!!!"
Ren and Stimpy Adult Party Cartoon: I only saw the second half of this because I came in late, but what I saw made me cringe in agony. They took an original cartoon and...switched sound-effects? At least that's what seemed to happen! The end-result was pure drivel! Nothing sounded right; everything I saw typfied what Spumco does nowadays: throw out subtlety and force the laughter out. Guess what? It didn't work.
D-
Gary the Rat: Now this was actually funny. After a lackluster and dull first episode, "Gary the Rat" has actually found its rhythm. The biggest highlight has to be Kelsey Grammer and his lines. What he says and the way he delivers it is brilliant. He is the reason why this show is still around, and he's the reason why I actually laughed here. Of course, it's not all perfect: that exterminator is utterly annoying and needs to be removed. He has no place in this show other than to create unnecessary running gags that only hinder the show. Other than that, however, "Gary the Rat" was tops tonight.
A-
Stripperella: Didn't watch most of it because I had to catch a "Futurama" episode I had missed twice on Adult Swim. But what I saw still showed me why the show sucks. Dialogue is lifeless, motivation is nonexistent, and Pamela Anderson's voice continues to make my ears bleed. And the mosaics over the strippers' nipples are kinda pointless, aren't they?
Won't rate, but I still don't like the show.
Overall, "Gary the Rat" is proving to be the show that is keeping this block alive quality-wise. Everything else I don't give Gary the Rat's ass.
Whatever you do, don't read this signature.
...?
The only reason I am watching Stripperella right now is to make the woman who is suing to have it removed really doesn't have a case.
But I still think it is utter crap. Are women really superficial to expose thier breasts in casual everyday conversation, or have Jekyll and Hyde mood swings, or dependant on coats. I need some soda to wash this hoorible taste out of my mouth.
Later.
Ren & Stimpy
ahh the infamous Banned on Nick George Liquor epi. Very good, Ren's always funny whenever he has his "Goes Insane" moment and with the standard laugh. Pilot's ok not great as most pilots are. B
Gary teh rAt
Great Episode! Lot's of Hummorus lines from Kelesy Grammer and the Awsome tail Slap to the Bank guard. and then there's the Delevery boy. Gary- "Here's 5 bucks, go out to the middle of the street and yell I've got a Bomb!" downfall- The Rat Exterminator and his Cat just their to waste time again. A-
Stripperella
Meh.. To much Strip focus. Bomb scene at beginning was good. Villian not so great. C
Wow, still on Page 1. That's a far cry from the 90 replies from Week 1.
Anyway, "Man's Best Friend" was funny. Highlights included the fish leaving, and Ren's assault on George Liquor.
I actually laughed at some of Stripperella. The scenes in the strip club suck, but the other parts are funny. I think Tom Kenny had about 10 voices in last's night episode, including Richard Simmons. I wonder who did the voice of Pushy Galore.
And "Powdered Toast Man" rules.
You do realize that this was the uncut version of the pilot, and is over 10 years old, therefore not "typfied [of] what Spumco does nowadays" right?Originally Posted by arxane

I was actually able to catch Gary the Rat last night. I think that Kelsey Grammar really fits the voice of Gary, and I liked when they went to the fast food restaurant. I especially liked the rat exterminator and his cat (who unusually sounds human). "In other news, the Lakers will be moving back to Minneapolis...."
Unfortunately, I didn't like how they panned through certain scenes - when they move through one scene really fast while the characters are still, it really makes you dizzy a times (depending on whether or not you're tired from the long day, which I was).
Be sure to catch 24 every Monday at 9pm Eastern on Fox (and 10pm Eastern on Global). Watch it, because you know you're brighter than Michael Irvin.
