BLACK HISTORY MONTH: Favorite Black Cartoon Character?

    Like This Thread!
Yep, folks, it's Black History Month, and admist all the televised replays of Martin Luther King's speeches and all manner of trivia being tossed about (George Washington Carver's peanut research, Charles Drew's blood plasma research, etc.), thought it might make a good topic for this forum to ask: who is your favorite Black cartoon character? Agent "J" from MiB? Fat Albert? John Stewart from "Justice League"? Susie from "Rugrats"?

Oh and I have a question.

Is the Animated Series Lex Luther black or white ? In his incarnation on Superman:TAS and JL, he looks black.

Could be a tan but how do you explain his lips ?

Fillmore's cool, but I have to go with Homer's co-worker/drinking buddy, the self-proclaimed "urban Lenny", Carl Calson.

"The Simpsons" Carl is a great character. Even if they overly play the "he's nothing but a sidekick" thing to strongly now.

Fat Albert's a definite favorite. He worked both ways, showing it's cool to be black and/or over weight.

Even though he never had a main role, Franklin from the "Peanuts" specials is always cool. I may be biased, though, as I read the strip and they used him more there.

My main man is Zodac from 'Masters of the Universe'. (Didn't ya' hear? He's black now in the new show. Stick around for 'Snake Pit' next month. )

I can't wait to see the true Baxter Stockman in the new TMNT cartoon. Hooyah! =D

Can't forget Fat Albert. Hey hey hey!

Netossa from 'She-Ra: Princess of Power' is a great black female character. It's a shame she was so underused in the show. But she's so awesome!

AGENT JAY FROM MEN IN BLACK! hehe I love his cool style a ton. He's also just totally funny in both cartoon and 1997 film form. I enjoy the cartoon character particularly because of the comedy used with him. Sure, hes 'the rookie' even 5 years after joining, but he's gotta be my favorite agent (besides Elle) I enjoy laughing, and Jay always has great lines.

Jay: Nice Ride, but I prefer the LTD.

Right now? SugaMama from the Proud Family. It's so funny the way Papi always be carrying her. lol Fav. black character of all time? Umm.. probably Dr. Hibbert. I like black characters that actually do stuff and are intelligent and aren't there just to fill a quota.

Pretty sure TAS Luthor's supposed to be white... though seeing him next to/interacting with Steel in that one episode, it almost makes me wonder... :-)

Perhaps the animated Luthor has as a parent/grandparent someone African-American (or some similar genetic trait)? Either that, or being all vein and rich and stuff, he's shelled out for collagen lip injections. ;-)

Chef, Dr. Hibbert, Fat Albert, Carl, Steel (Superman appearance, not that awful movie), Blade (hey he appeared in Spiderman), Irwin (Grim and Evil), Cleveland, and many more, just can't name any at the moment.

Black Panther, Tigatron[c`mon he`s such an African warrior]
Jazz[he`s a robot aswell, but he was so much like one of my uncles] Panthro[again he`s not actually a human but has anyone ever gotten the Black Panther Brother connection with him?]

And Goliath from Gargoyles, when he was turned human he was indeed a black man. Oh and War Machine.

By the way this is a little off topic but, D`lo Brown`s manager said that the only super we black people have[which includes myself] was Black Lighting, if Static Shock and the above mentions have said anything at all, is that we do have quite a wide assortmenf of some of the greatest superheroes of all time and space.
