Whatever happend to just plan SINGING in an animated feature?
Di$ney springs to mind...
You know what a Aniamted movie is missing? It need's something that Children can dance too. If cartoon Character's sung rap in animated movie's though there not going to be cursy. They would be kind like that song in "Swan Princess 2" at the end credits where the character's sing a rap version of "No Fear" Do you think it's all right to have them in animated movie's? Which animated character should sing a rap song in an animated movie?

The music of any feature film should be appropriate to the setting and period of the story, and current "pop" styles should not be included without a damn good reason. There are artistic reasons that a medieval fantasy musical could have a rap soundtrack, but it needs to be done in a way that makes sense. There was no discernible reason for Swan Princess 2 to do most of what it did with music.
Love means never having to say "That's disgusting!"
Eschew obfuscation!
The thought of characters singing rap songs in animated films reminds me too much of Grumpy Bear rapping in the old Care Bears Adventure in Wonderland movie. *shudders*

Hey, that was the one redeeming thing about that whole film.Originally posted by J.C.

LOL True, true. It did make me laugh, but mostly for all the wrong reasons. Grumpy Bears rapping really did steal the show.

Grumpy Bear peforming "Lose Yourself" would be a must-see![]()
Let's leave singin' cartoon characthers to Di$ney my friend, and that includes all kinds of music.

I remember that Swan Princess rap...>_<;;;; Me an' a bunch of friends were gearing up to watch some MST3K eps, and as we were flipping channels, Baja's like, "Wait, I've heard this before! It's hilarious!!" So we listened. Half of us were laughing so hard we nearly keeled over, the other half were cringing and twitching in absolute torture.
It sucked.

Ditto! Music should fit the period and mood of the story always. (That goes for both animated and live-action films; one of the worst things a movie can do is to have music which fits it through the whole thing - for example, period pieces for a historic film - and then ruin it all by running the current pop princess' latest hit over the end credits. I know they just do it thinking it will help sell the soundtrack, but of course, most of the people who would enjoy a film with a historic setting would not enjoy the pop song - at least not in that context.) So my answer would be - only let the characters rap if the story is set in a time and social context where rapping would be appropriate.Originally posted by zimbach

What would be the wisest wish that one could ever make?
The wish that could not backfire.
The wish that would not cause one's friends to say

has anyone seen wave twisters?
its an animated film by dj qbert.....its the best marriage of hip hop and animation ever...........all forms of music go well with animation, when done right.......and their definitely is a precedent looking at the use big band and bebop jazz from the classic era.....using hiphop would be no different.....like a modern aristocats or american pop
I don't think it should be ALWAYS....One of my favorite medieval-style (live action) movies had an entirely rock soundtrack and characters with weirdly-dyed hair.Originally posted by Ikwig
