    My favorites

I've been watching Kids' WB! since the day it premiered and I personally do not like the majority of the shows on KWB. Now that Men In Black: The Series is gone, the only show that I really care about is Batman Beyond. Of course, Batman Beyond will likely leave the net soon, so I don't have any reason to watch the network anymore, besides checking out some of their new shows (which, I would like to add, look horrible). X-Men: Evolution has great animation and had alot of promise, but I hate the whole teenage angst.

I hate to flatten the enthusiasm of a newbie, but... well, most of us here just don't like KWB anymore. Too many of the shows have been overly "kiddified" for our tastes. There are a few posters here that like Pokemon, but not many: I start to get murderous thoughts when the critters start saying their names over and over and over and over and over. All of the action shows are just flat watered-down. And while X-Men: Evolution has great animation, I'm seriously disturbed by the fact that you've got a group of popular kids (the X-Men) who look down on a bunch of freaks (the other mutants), largely because they're just different. Also the whole anorexic theme of the style is disturbing.

Not that we'll say you're wrong for liking these shows, we'll never make fun of someone's viewpoint. And we're glad to have you here. But... don't be surprised if few people share your interests.

Everything on Kids' WB! has been "kiddified." It's really sad too. I remember the days when Kids' WB! aired shows like Batman, Superman, Animaniacs, Pinky & The Brain, Tiny Toons (repeats, but they were still good) and Freakazoid!. I know Kids' WB! will never bring them back (at least, not for the distant future) and that's ok with me. When I younger, I probably would have watched the shows that are on Kids' WB! right now anyways. I was into alot of the action-oriented shows when I was little.

Everything goes through phases, I guess. Back in the days when A! and TTA were the big things, I met plenty of people who couldn't stand those shows. Of course, I haven't heard of *one* person who ever discredited P&tB or B:TAS (the worst criticism I ever heard of either show from anyone who'd actually seen an episode was, "It's not my thing, but it *IS* really well-done").

But you can't please everybody. I just shudder to think what it'll be like twenty years down the line when Poke-nostalgia grips the nation...

Any of the Silver Age stuff! Especially Histeria! A animated DC eppy will do in a pinch as well, BTW.

Pity they 'kiddified' all those shows. And 'Poke' noglostia?! AHH! Scary! But then maybe we can have a noglostic age for TTA, F!, A! and H! as well....

....when KWB starts treating their shows with respect is when I, and a lot of other people, will start watching it again.....

But as Hatter said, it's nice to see there are still people who have faith...

We can have that now. The fan community has the talent to do animation, radio plays even games so we covered in the respect all we need is the will to do it.

Yup but I'm not going to hold my breath.

Agree with the "KWB's been kiddified" comments. Though of course its primary purpose for being (in terms of target audience) *is* to attract kids, since it's a business and all, and presumably P&tB and such weren't doing that (or won't do it as well as stuff like "Max Steel").

As for lack of criticism, Craig, over P&tB/B:TAS vs. A!/TTA, I'd presume it's since most of the general public would find P&tB/B:TAS more appealing in an adult way than the somewhat more kid-friendly TTA/A! (more adult-oriented jokes/plots on P&tB/B:TAS vs. the other two shows' [yes, the Warners and Slappy seem aimed at older viewers somewhat, but for each of those, you have kid-friendly stuff like Buttons & Mindy and whatnot eating up time]...).

And to the original poster, I too don't care much for what's on KWB these days either (save for maybe Batman Beyond and an occasional ep of Jackie Chan). (Shrug) Of course, there's always Cartoon Network (which seems to offer what those on here would want: hours of old Looney Tunes, superheroics, Powerpuff Girls, etc.)...

And good serious shows like Samurai Jack! And much comedy in terms of Dexter's Lab and Johnny Bravo! CN rules now!
If only CN still aired Silver Age stuff....but at least Nick took up the mantle. And now I can finally see P&tB and A! now, even if Nick may edit them....

Sigh...WHY did KWB go off the path...? (rehortical question...)

    Yes! another Histeria! Fan!!!

I know that BB is a H! fan, but I talking about Clifton 1990.

Okay, so H! is not the best show ever, but I still like it I got some of the Episodes that aired on WGN. Too bad it will be gone FOR A WHILE, NOT FOREVER!!!! Because I will go majoring in animation and production, so I could get permission form the WBA studios in Burbank, so I could revive some shows and make it better, like Freakazoid, Histeria, Pinky, Elmyra, and the Brain, and Tiny Toons. Also I will make spinoffs of Histeria!, Tiny Toons, and Freakazoid, and I will do all that before I will come up with my own cartoon idea!!!

First, to rating the current lineup.
#10 (tie): Cardcaptors never seen it
    Cubix: Robots For Everyone ditto
    Jackie Chan Adventures ditto
    Rescue Heroes ditto
#9: P*k*m*n Hey, you notice I don't even say the whole title; need I say more? But people here are familliar with my antipathy toward it.
#8: The Zeta Project I've never seen it either, but because of the BB crossovers I give it a break.
#7: X-Men Evolution I know, I'm breaking your heart here. I'm not meaning to dis your favorites, but we just have different tastes. Nothing personal, Clifton.
#6: Static Shock I've never seen this either, but a friend of mine from the Road Rovers fanhood, the Computer Dinosaur, has written a fanfic Career Day, which is a crossover of SS & his series The Renegade Files. If you're interested, the addy is http://www.fortunecity.com/lavender/.../519/rf033.txt . I invite y'all to check out the hundreds of fanfics --- most of which are @ least tangentially related to Road Rovers --- on CD's old Fortune City site, & his new tripod site (recently moved from Angelfire).
#5: Generation O! Not as bad as I'd always thot it was, but it's probably a good thing I'm not gonna have the chance for it to grow on me.
#4: Detention Also better than I thot it was. It gets the nod over Generation O! because it actually has a fan on the net. That's right; over on the A! ng, one Varakorn Ungvichian has been talking up Detention for months, & he's recently added a Detention page to his Road Rovers & Rugrats sites.
    #3: Men In Black
#2: Batman Beyond Tough call as I like them both. Catch me tomorrow, or for that matter in five minutes, & I'll probably have the order flipped. It's just tough to pick one over the other.
#1: Histeria NC No Contest bay-bee! I am a devotee of the traditional Warner animation schtuffs; that is, the insane, the wierd, the wacky, the zany, the stuff that put the Looney in Looney Tunes. Histeria is the last remnant of the Silver Age of Warner insanity. It is the only current show with a site I regularly visit; shucks, I hang out there a lot, & I invite you to too: http://www.angelfire.com/tv/enhist/ .

Of course, most of this pales in comparison to what has come & gone before: Tiny Toon Adventures, Taz-Mania (which admittedly was never on KWB but is was a WBA show of the '90's so it counts), Animaniacs, Pinky & the Brain, Freakazoid, the Sylvester & Tweety Mysteries (don't hurt me guys; except for the gratuitous abuse to Sylvester I like it), even the superhero shows, the various Batman series & Superman. Then there's the Road Rovers, something that is a breed apart, which is not quite of the Looney mold, but it combines comedy with action in a way that is most pleasing. Do a web search for it sometimes & you'll find hundreds who agree. There's dozens & dozens of web sitees devoted to the RoRos; of how many 13 episode shows can that be said?

Now, I'd like to address our hopes for the return of these shows by adding my own. Like Craig said, these things go in phases. Someday, tho admittedly this is only in my own imagination but then again the vision is necessary first, there will be a channel, Toon TV, where all of the dearly departed will air with existing & new episodes. By then the K beast will be able to P*k* 'till he pukes over on the Toonami channel. I will continue to believe that someday all of these shows will come back; while there's the masters & negatives there is hope. And I live in hope. Actually I live in Texarkana but that's close enough (I know Craig, but there's newbies here). The glory that was KWB & the Silver Age will rise again!
If you don't like your options, make another option.

On the current schedule I like Batman Beyond and MIB, and can tolerate X-Men: Evo and Jackie Chan Adventures. My favorite overall show is the classic BATMAN/SUPERMAN Adventures.

Many people here know I like a lot, so I don't even have to post it.

Oh, wait, no...Clifton1990 is a newbie, so I guess I should mention it.

Oh, right, would help if I actually typed it, poit.
I am a big fan of A! and P&TB, NARF!

    Hmm...

...after realizing Clifton's screen name was a date, it occurred to me that Clifton's probably around 10 or 11 years old (assuing "1990" is his birthdate). Hence, his likely to be appreciative of what's currently running on KWB (Pokemon, etc.), and of course, people of his age being who KWB is supposed to be targeting age-wise (ages 2-11 being the TV "kid" demographic)...

Vs. me in 1990 having been in high school, laughing at the antics of Tiny Toons on our basement black-and-white TV set (and occasionally being allowed to watch the color set in our living room), and wishing I had a way of knowing what episodes would come on that day (so I could avoid having to sit through TTA eps like "Sawdust and Toonsil"/"Whale's Tales"). Of course, in 1990, the Web (and all the fan-friendly stuff that came with it, like, um, broadcast schedules of episodes being online and stuff) wasn't even invented yet (and the phrase "information superhighway" being a few years off...) :-)

    -B.
Ah, 1990....the days of "Operation Desert Storm"... MC Hammer... and "Simpsons"-mania (and complaining about "Simpsons" reruns and the lack of new ones :-)

And me in 1990 having been six years old, just starting first-grade, and getting my first taste of actually having to do stuff besides play and watch cartoons. Bright-eyed and bushy-tailed in the early years before my fragile spirit was crushed by the impersonal, stifling education system and the realities of the jaded '90's workaday world...and with unimpaired vision, to boot, so I could actually see crystal-clear without the aid of glasses, contacts, or other such nuisanes!

My entertainment choices...um...really haven't changed that significantly since then, actually. As I've said, I was never a big TTA watcher, but I watched The Bugs Bunny & Tweety Show faithfully every Saturday morning, and was really into "The Disney Afternoon" too (which, IIRC, consisted of the Gummi Bears, DuckTales, Tale Spin, and Chip 'n' Dale's Rescue Rangers at the time). Recall being thrilled by the "Disney Afternoon" theme song, with lots of colorful, shiny visuals of the characters from the various shows interacting together. Didn't really get interested in The Simpsons until a few years later (although several of my peers were into the show).
