Austin Powers: The Animated Series?

What ever happened to this series? Did it ever come to be? Or did it premiere and was then cancelled just as quickly?
I remember it was supposed to appear on HBO to coincide with Austin Powers 2 back in late 1999-early 2000.

I've never even heard of such a thing...kind of glad it didn't happen though. I don't think an animated series could ever do justice to the characters that Mike Myers has created.

The last time I heard any news about it was back in 1999. That was when Mike Myers wanted to make 6 Austin Powers movies total. Those plans have been scrapped, so it looks like the animated series was too.
Myers was set to do the voices and everything. I even remember seeing a teaser pic with the animated character designs.

Yeah the show was scrapped, because I guess Myers felt it would have been too much work to do both an animated series and movies with the same characters during the same time period. This was right after AP: TSWSM I believe. Cinescape and EW reported about the series, and the thy(Mike Myers and HBO) decided against it.

Yea! But he completly killed the 3rd one and the whole trilogy of movies after his stupid move with

Michael Cain is both Austin's and Dr. Evil's daddy yet it was a movie about a movie of Austin Powers.

I use to love the Austin Powers' movies, but Mike went a little to far when he killed it ruining all his prevous work.
