It's possible that Elfman could re-create Carl Stalling's musical style without being too wierd, or spooky. Shirley Walker's music on Batman TAS stayed true to his original Batman score. Maybe she could work with him on this new Looney Tunes movie.
Do YOU think the master of quirky music can deliver a supreme score for Looney Tunes?
Danny Elfman is known for his work in:
The Simpsons Main Theme
Batman
Edward Scissorhands
Men In Black I, II
Nightmare before X-mas (He also did the singing voice for Jack!)
Beetlejuice
Spiderman
Family Dog (a short Amazing Stories piece)
...and a load more. Elfman is known for making some of our most memorable themes since Star Wars.
Can he handle the looney Tunes?

Does the Pope wear a hat?
Does the Earth revolve around the sun?
In other words, I believe it is so...though shouldn't Jerry Goldsmith be attached to this film? I mean, not to take away from Elfman's boundless talent, but this is a Joe Dante project, after all.
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.

Maybe I missed something...
Is Danny Elfman doing the music for the new Looney Tunes film, "Back In Action"? If so, he's a good choice. His scores for "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" and "Beetlejuice" are favorites of mine.

His score for The Nightmare Before Christmas was kinda Looney Tunes meets Rocky Horror. I think he'd be capable of pulling it off.

Yes, I don't think there's any music from him that I didn't like and I don't think there ever will. The Nightmare Before Christmas is by far his best work. With this Looney Tunes movie, the music has to be....well.... more looney than before. Kinda like Beetlejuice but less spooky.
I was once called Patrick Star....a looooooong time ago.........then I needed a break.
I'd be happy if ANYONE remembered me!

if anyone has a chance, download the music for 'family dog'. it's really loony sounding but not too crazy.
Also... Alf Clausen would be good. Elfman did the main Simpsons Theme... but Clausen does all genres of music required for the simpsons. Im sure he could do something.
Well, I'm not too familiar with Elfman but considering the movies that he's done the music for, I have a strong feeling he'll do a great job on it. Um, BTW Delia, do you happen to know if he did the music for Joe Dante's Gremlins movies? The one from the second film, with its faster beat, was terrific! (Even though I'll never watch that nor Small Soldiers again. They were too creepy for me.)

Im not sure about that. Ill have to check.
Actually, Jerry Goldsmith has scored every theatrical Dante film since the third segment of "Twilight Zone: the Movie" back in 1983. Upon hearing about Elfman's hiring, Dante himself said, and I quote, "It's news to me." While Elfman is a great composer, I sincerely doubt that the partnership of Dante and Goldsmith will be broken up so easily.Originally posted by Viper
