Well, I actually did create a cartoon a while back with a whole list of characters and villians. I am making it a graphic novel.
I'm jsut curious to see what your idea of the "ultimate" Cartoon would be. Whether it be anime, comedy, or action.![]()

Really sweet
whats it about?
Ya I have a comedy comic strip in the workss (well actually its a comic long enough to be a tv cartoon)
But its about 3 kids, its pretty edgy and is aimed a teen (like myself) and adults (i guess) well i will definently have links to it and more info, soon. as soon as i get the pages colored in photoshop and uploaded to my site
Mine would be a funny cartoon animated in the style of Pinky and The Brain and The Animaniacs. It would have good writing and perfect timing for jokes.

My kind of cartoon would be one that pays tribute to anything I like, (Anime, action cartoons, comic books, Lonney Tunes, Tex Avery, comedy records, video games) and bashes anything I hate (Di$ney Channel, Boy Bands, Carrot Top, David Arquette, MTV, Gangster Rap, Commercials, Brad Pitt, Jenifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, new age video editing)
Tough one. I really don't know. Something that has a long-lasting impact on the viewer in some way, whether it be through humour, drama, thought-provoking ideas...
Thought provoking is fine, so long as it doesn't get preachy or moralistic.
I'd just like a simple teen romantic comedy that does not involve talking animals. Giant robots would be a plus, though. And a strong linear continuity so that it would have to be shown in a specific order, with plot lines that take more than 30 minutes to resolve.
Love means never having to say "That's disgusting!"
Eschew obfuscation!
Oooh, yes, I was waiting for this. I dream of creating an animated series, which I kind of wish could be cel-shaded CG to give it a unique look. It would be a sci-fi drama with a touch of comedy, owing much to shows like Cowboy Bebop, Outlaw Star, and Futurama, along with little tributes to certain games, even accidentally.(There's a cute catgirl character I drew, and upon looking at her I realized she looked faintly like Eiko Karrol from FFIX. I had to redesign her a bit to make her look different; luckily, my character style is pretty unique.)It would have humor, but would still be a serious show at the core. I'd like it to have only THREE seasons, if possible; not 26 like short animes, or 52 like long shows; 39 seems just right. And if possible, I'd like a feature film to conclude the whole thing in a big epic a la Transformers, and I'm still tweaking the ending in my mind to make it have a big impact on whoever sees it. It's just a daydream at the moment, but hey, who cares? I'm going to an art school and the show, which at the moment I call Starship Silicon(Which I think is a horrible name-can anyone think of anything better for the ship name?), is my primary goal for the start of an animation career. It would be a dream if CN picked it up(I kinda think it should be a CN original like Samurai Jack and Justice League, but should be on late night shortly before Adult Swim, so it's up to PG-13 standards.), because I can't think of anyone else who could do all that.
I love talking with people who have the same dreams as me.
Is your cartoon idea about a spaceship? Give out a little more details and I will eventually come up with name suggestions.
By the way it Sound like a cool idea to me![]()

I wouldn't mind seeing a made for TV cartoon series with no continuity at all. No consistant character designs (other than a general look), background designs, setting, or character relationships. For example, Character A and Character B could be best friends in one episode, but complete strangers in the next. It's the sort of thing that's common in theatrical cartoons, but I don't think it has really been done for TV since the early days of Hanna-Barbera (though, 2 Stupid Dogs sort of had this kind of thing going, with the large man).
It'd be interesting to see how people would react to such a cartoon series. It would probably confuse people at first![]()

G.A.C. is coming! And it will destroy us all....or not, you'll have to wait and see.
That is a good idea actually.Originally posted by Jack

Yeah I wouldn't mind seeing that. in other words, id watch itI wouldn't mind seeing a made for TV cartoon series with no continuity at all. The ultimate cartoon? I would have to say Super Duper Sumo Wrestlers.LOL!
No, my show idea isn't about a spaceship, but about the crew who pilots it and the journeys they experience(i.e. Primitive creatures being overrun by merciless invaders, an insane killer with the ability to control time, a liquid assassin sneaking through their plumbing system, and eventually a battle between a crime lord who wishes to disrupt and conquer all of reality. That's enough for one sentence.), a la Cowboy Bebop. So, I thought it would be appropriate for the show to be named after their ship, since that's the case with CB.(If you're wondering their jobs, they're special forces, but they're often sent into things by their own decisions, act independently, grow and change with the series, and overall have totally seperate lives from their jobs.)
Since I've gone so far, I might as well tell the cast(I have very few names right now):
Jed- Our main character, Jed is a teen who, after a difficult relationship with his father, ran away from his city home and lived a solitary life alone in the forest, wandering in and out of the city as he pleases.(He's an expert card player, and therefore earns most of his money from bars at the start.)On a fateful day, he becomes accidentally entwined in one of the crews' missions, and upon seeing his fantastic combat skills and reflexes, he's offered a posititon. He's a loner for some time, though he is someone's crush throughout the series. Something that makes him stand out-his species all have a single living tentacle jutting out of their hair, with eyes for suckers and a totally separate brain, practically a 2-in-1 lifeform. He's named his tentacle Jim, and Jim, who can only make small gurgling noises, is also a main character in the vein of Ein. Bares a vague resemblence to Cale from Titan AE(Not intended).
Kaya- The female lead, Kaya is a responsible, smart and kind girl who happens to be second-in-command of the ship, and leader of the troops. Despite what you may think, nothing ever clicks between her and Jed, though they become good friends from the start. Looked too much like Leela at first, and has since been redesigned.
Havin: Our other male lead, Havin is an orphan who is an expert thief and fighter. He's picked up from a market in a similar way to Jed that I haven't worked out yet, and after a mission during which he and Kaya are trapped together and almost killed, he develops a relationship with her. Kind, quiet, and clever, and insists on wearing his ragged jacket always because a)it means a lot to him, and b)he's got more weapons stocked in it than Neo can shake a stick at. Has Cale's hairstyle and color(Jed's is slightly Goku-ish).
Catgirl(No name): Kaya's younger sister, who's 12 at the series' start and 15 by the finale. A diehard fanatic of an ancient art form off some obscure planet that has been observed but never bothered with due to the fact that its inhabitants are morons, she(To her parents and Kaya's dismay)had surgery to recieve a tail, cat ears and claws, hordes dozens of discs in her room, is undeniably cute, has slightly larger-than-normal eyes, wears a kimono, and likes to sweatdrop, cry waterfalls, and act hyper. She has a major crush on Jed until she develops a relationship in the finale. Bares a vague resemblance to Eiko Carroll of FFIX.
Hacker(Unnamed): Pilot, scientist, hacker, technician, and basically every position that involves electricity on the ship. He almost never comes out of his room, where he is hooked up to the ship's control system. He can research info on locations on enemies for assistance, is excellent at piloting, and is very eccentric at times. Bares a vague resemblance to Jhonen Vasquez, and among the piles of geek items in his room is a mysterious poster adorned with a pair of yellow goggles and the slogan "Get BLISS".
Ship engineer(Unnamed): A middle-aged black woman who dresses with loose-fitting gloves, goggles and toolbelt, she is an unexpected font of wisdom and experienced in a surprising amount of things. When no one is around to command the troops, she can do a great job.
Anyone like? I still have a lot more characters to type about, but my fingers are tired, so tell me if you want more. Ship/show name ideas welcome.
I love it Man!!!![]()
I would love to see a cartoon like that!!!![]()
It rocks!!!![]()
How many of these characters have you drawn?
You should put some up at the drawing board. i'd love to see 'em!
Well, too continue what my idea is, I can't tell you much until copyright stuff is in the bag. But here's the synopsis.
In a totally different dimension, this team of insects are appointed to take down all of the world's most powerful super villians. The first is an evil queen bee. The rest follow on down the line of every insect in existence.
If this was done as a cartoon it would have to be done one of two ways. I wouldn't mind it being on Cartoon Network, but their would be alot of violence (mind you Animal Planet has a bit more and its real), but the show is not violent in nature, but it isn't going to be kiddied down at all. This is for adults. I can see it on Adult Swim, but it looks too much like a kiddie cartoon, so I don't think CN would pick it up.
I actually wanted it to be a first for network television. Anyone who grew up in the eighties remembers Friday Night Videos, well if NBC could try something new in that block, I would offer my cartoon. Also, this would have to be one hour episodes like any drama show. This might mean less episodes, but the quality in animation and writing would be worth the wait.
I have plenty of character designs and stuff, but I'm still working on color schemes. I only know what the main character will have not the villians, and I'm tired of purple, green, black, and red being the villian colors.
"Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press
on toward the goal." (Philippians 3:13-14)
I've drawn at least one of each character, but Kaya, Havin, Catgirl, Hacker, the Time Bandit, and two robots named Zen and Roscoe are the only ones I can draw as I really envision them-the rest aren't done yet(Particularly the main villain-when I drew him in the shadows he looked like Del from the Gorillaz.). However, until I have a scanner(And I may be close to getting one), no drawing board.
And GL2k2, are you keeping it secret because it's actually in development, or is there really some rule saying, "If you said it before somewhere else, you can't make it"? Just wanted to be safe before I continue.
Well, its not that I don't trust you guys, but I'm just being safe. I have to finish up my story and submit it as a graphic novel to the Copyright office. Then send out the logo to the trademark office. Until then I'm not naming characters or anything.Originally posted by Behonkiss

I wouldn't be worried if it looks like a kiddie cartoon. because Aqua Teen Hunger Force, sure looks like a kiddie cartoon, buts its anything but that.If this was done as a cartoon it would have to be done one of two ways.
