Decent but not great SP. Highlight was the First Episode Special Edition Trailer.
The boys form a club in order to stop Hollywood directors from wrecking their films. The show airs 10:00 PM Eastern/9:00 PM Central on Comedy Central.
This episode was hilarious. The first episode spoof was an awesome. The free hat part was twisted. Babies are dangerous especially when in a group they are like pirhanas. I'm glad somebody said that special edition and update editions suck. My favorite quote was during the spoof when Trey said that you need to buy the special edition now because another is coming out next year. This was a fanastic episode

Risen like a Beth Phoenix!
I think this was the worst episode this season. There just wasn't any "South Park" in it. I agree that the trailer was good, though.
Not a bad ep, I'd say...the whole "free hat" thing was just twisted, but I'm glad we got to see Tweek develop as a character more. The Zen stuff was cool.

Except for the ending, this episode was really good. I'm a sucker for spoofs, so I can't complain.
the ending was great. but you hae to have seen raiders of the lost ark to understand the ending.
overall i'd give it a 8/10.
It definetly had a good point about it being just plain greedy and stupid, changing past hit movies just to give it more ohhhh and ahhh and look more expensive(which ends up ruining it).
The subplot about Hat McCollough (sp?) was pretty stupid, as were his supporters. Freakin' rednecks.
Anyway, I loved the main plot though. Some great moments:
- the new version of "Saving Private Ryan"
- Trey and Matt, in the flesh, presenting the new version of "Cartman Gets an Anal Probe"
- the climax (I love "Raiders" and this was a great parody)
- the ending (my reaction to that joke was like Jay's reaction to the "holy bartender" joke in Dogma)
I feel that a big problem with today's society is that we don't listen to our fellow man -- especially when I'm talking.
"Never be afraid to borrow from those wiser than yourself." - Mr. Jimmy (voice of David Arquette) on "Pelswick"
"What do I care what some yahoo like Lonestarr posts on the internet?" - President Skroob (voice of Mel Brooks) on "Spaceballs: the Series"

That's the ending that I didn't like. That, and the death of the directors. Everything else was great.Originally posted by Lonestarr

Well to understand the ending, you have to see news shows like "O'Reilly Factor", and his reports about 9/11 victims that haven't seen any the reflife funds there were suppose to get.
The episode showed again tonight and I still love it's moral of not to change classic media art in the prasuit for more money.
Too bad this episode didn't come out know. WIth the "X-Men 1.5" DVD giving out failry useless tidbits of extras for the same price as the first one, South Park could of spoofed that good. "The South Park Season One DVD has now been upgraded to the Season 1.5 DVD with 30 seconds of extras. Mainly Cartman running around saying 'Weak' and 'Kick ass' for your viewing pleasures". That would have been funny, or at least realistic. You know marketing.
Decent episode, but what really bugged me was that Matt & Trey just used the kids to convey their feelings. At no point was I convinced that the kids would actually care about Spielberg or Lucas. Usually they only talk directly through the kids during the "moral" of the episode, but here they were talking the whole way through.
Another funny thing I noticed about this episode: the boys and Hat's supporters (to quote myself: "Freakin' rednecks.") debating over what kind of song would appeal to George Lucas and the governor, respectively.
"Freeze his hot heart with a cool island song."
"Warm his cool heart with a fresh island song."
Stupid and funny at the same time.

I thought the best bit (besides the first episode remake special edition "advertisement") was replacing the guns with walkie-talkies. Soldiers in "Saving Private Ryan" blasting other soldiers away with their communication devices... *snicker*
I also liked how they poked fun at some filmmakers' attempts to be politically correct with the bit about replacing the word "Nazis" with "People of Different Political Beliefs" (or something like that).
