Well, here's this weekend's box office tally:

Apparently (contrary to what all of us on here thought), the general public apparently was more enamorated of the idea of watching the CGI Scoobster cavort around on-screen more than we were---it drew a much-more-than-expected take of around $56 million (having cost $80 mil to make, the film's apparently destined to make a profit for sure).

Learned that it cost $20 million or so of the film's budget to make the CGI Scooby Doo... (shrug). Also learned that there's already a *sequel* in the works....woohoo...

Of course, things should get more interesting next weekend when "Lilo and Stitch" (a film I want to see) comes out (as is "Minority Report")---imagine the Scoobster getting knocked down a few notches (at least), with Lilo battling Minority Report for the top spot (and figure "Star Wars" and Spidey get knocked down a few more notches, w/Spirit either at #10 or dropping off the list totally)...
