"Previously on..."? Eh, the Warners been there, done that, six years ago.
...I saw the part two of that "Family Guy" two-parter. The opening several minutes actually approached being, uh, OK ("previously on Family Guy" featuring parodies of cheesy cliffhangers) and focused on Brian trying to make it in Hollywood as a writer---then it devolved into the usual level of "quality" we've all come to know and love (including the obligatory Tacky Gay/Ethnic Jokes). The second half revolved around how Brian made it in Hollywood, in a way that I wonder what Dr. Belch would think of. And like last week, another fanfic regular gets mentioned (this time, the Harbinger of the Apocalypse himself...in a reference to one of Mr. Murphy's decidedly lesser real-life "moments"...). Clearly Stewie's revenge is being secretly implemented as revenge for not being able to take over America's third-largest city and the home of White Sox baseball...uh, either that, or I have too much time on my hands :-)
And unrelated to this, the Powerpuff Girls commercial for pop tarts consisted of: Mojo Jojo trying to steal some sprinkles off of whatever new brand of pop tarts they're pushing. THe PPG's fly in with an announcer saying "will Mojo Jojo steal the sprinkles? Will the PPGs save the day?" or somesuch. The girls arrive on the scene, Mojo looks surprised, as the girls whir around him at super-speed, which sends him flying through the ceiling (and the announcer saying "he's out of there!") and knocking the sprinkles back onto the sugar-and-artificial-ingredient-laden tart. Cut to that throbbing heart background they use at the end of PPG eps, with the girls ogling the aforementioned pop-tarts-with-sprinkles. End of ad....no one except for the announcer speaks at all, and the whole thing lasts for about 10 seconds...

If you don't like your options, make another option.
Toldya they steal jokes mercilessly.

True, and I remembered A!'s joke on the same (which makes me wonder if, say, the Brain would ever make an "appearance" on "Family Guy" at some point...).Originally posted by The Mad Hatter

I also note that the show doesn't parody anything (that can't be turned into some crude ethnic/sexual reference) but just uses the people/show/etc. outright: Stewie appeared on "Kids Say the Darndest Things" with Bill Cosby at a CBS station studio...rather than, say, making fun of the name of the show/a parody of Cosby's name or the network or something...

I wouldn't much mind if he did. Even without 'em, I find Poptarts *way* too sugary.
Yeah, I like pop tarts, but only the kind that don't have the frosting on them. Now that's pancreas failure just waiting to happen. But the unfrosted kind are so hard to find nowadays.

Not really. My local 99-cents store sells plenty of un-frosted pop tarts.Originally posted by The Mad Hatter

And guess what - they're only 99 cents!
And besides, most people look at this type of topic unrealistically. They are all under the apparent misconception tha--oh, wait. Is my post over? Ah, okay.
