So why do you like Cartoons Toonzonies???

    Like This Thread!
The IGN boards had something like this thread going on, so heck I thought we would as well.

I like animation because I love the mystique of cartoons. You can do all kinds of stuff, plus I just have this thing with action cartoons. The effects can be so much better thn what live action is capable of alot of times, and it's cheeper to. For instance I was watching Dark Angel once, and Alba's charecter jumped and it looked so fake, but if these charecters had been annimated with a high budget it would have looked so much more seemless. Anyway, thoughts?

I think we've talked about this some time before, but it was a REEEAALY long while ago. Anyways, when at it's best, animation can do things live action can't, while at the same time letting the animators', directors, and writers' go to their complete and full potentials. And, as all this is happening, it also provides entertainment for a much broader audiance. Unfortunately, of course, the "pop culture" thought on the matter is that animation goes the way of the Trix cereal. And for the past 20 years we've been trying to show them just how wrong they are.

Yup, cartoons are able to defy reality which allows them to go into unique areas be it comedy (a comedian can't regenerate any hacked-off limbs) or art (such as beautiful beautiful stuff from Yellow Submarine or the surrealism of early Fleischer works such as Betty Boop MD)

That's hard for me to answer! That's like asking me why I like comedies! I guess the reason I like animation as much as I do is because I find there is really good, original story telling in animated movies and TV shows that's absent from many live action movies and TV shows. It seems that the people behind the best animation give it 110% of all their effort.
