    11. Gloria in Heavy Metal (1981)
    10. Maleficent the Witch in Sleeping Beauty (1959)
    09. Cartman's mom in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)
    08. Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Thoughts, Comments, Opinions... and for fun, what changes would you make to the list?

I'm Not really too sure about Cartman's mom on the list... and somewhat surprised that such Disney females like Belle and Jasmine aren't on this list.

    Don't you people understand!?!

No Angle from Rock & Rule? Story goes a female animator was spose to do the scene near the end where Angle is straped up on stage. Said something about sterotypical something or other anyway she walked and the scene was done by someone else (see picture)

Anyway I have some problem with some of the girls that did make it.

Tiva - What the (*beep*) how did she even get in the top 50.

Gloria - They put her in but not Taarna (the girl with the sword and the giant bird)

Maleficent - Ok now this guy is starting to creep me out. The fact there is no adult fan art for her (that I know of) proves the drooling fan boys for her are a very much of a minority

    Re: The Dirty Dozen

If you're interested, IGN has an "Animated Babe of the Day" feature in this vein: http://formen.ign.com/babes.html

I visit there less frequently all the time because their ads have gotten way out of hand - beyond being gratuitous to outright annoying.

    > 12. San, the Princess Mononoke in Princess Mononoke (1997)

Cute, but a far cry from qualifying for a "hottest animated babes" toplist.

    > 11. Gloria in Heavy Metal (1981)

She wouldn't be on my personal list, but she does appear to be quite voluptuous. (I've never seen the movie.)

    > 10. Maleficent the Witch in Sleeping Beauty (1959)

How the @#$% did she make in the top 10? This Kent Andrade reviewer has no taste (no wonder - I see he's from iFILM). Too tall, that's what she is. And I just don't care for the goth look.

    > 09. Cartman's mom in South Park: Bigger, Longer & Uncut (1999)

Only a freak-job would find a crudely stop-animated cardboard cut-out woman sexy. (But no offense to anyone reading this who does. Just my opinion, you understand.)

    > 08. Snow White in Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937)

Cute, but not really a hottie.

    > 07. Medusa in Clash of the Titans (1981)

Wouldn't make my toplist, but she was pretty sexy... for a stop-motion animated character.

    > 06. Tiva in Fantastic Planet (1973)

I see nothing attractive about a giant blue alien chick with fins for ears. This Ken guy is truly a freak.

    > 05. Carole in Heavy Traffic (1973)

Well, Ken's tastes in animated fare are beginning to reveal themselves all too clearly. I saw this movie on cable last year and didn't care much for it at all. Carole was stereotypical and much too plump.

    > 04. Holli Would in Cool World (1992)

Okay, I'll give him that one. She might have made my top 10 list. The rotoscoping for Holli is... um, nice. Very nice.

    > 03. Ariel in The Little Mermaid (1989)

Very cute, but a little too young for me. I love redheads though.

    > 02. Betty Boop

    Definitely top 10 material.

    > 01. Jessica Rabbit in Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988)

See my earlier comment on redheads. She'd probably be my #1 choice if I thought about it enough. (And I've thought about it too much already.)

These are some of my personal favorites that certainly deserve to be mentioned:

American Maid (The Tick): There's just something about a superheroine in a maid costume who throws a high-heeled shoe and pins a villain to a wall that makes the heart of a red-blooded male beat very fast.

    Batman: TAS Babes:
    - Harley Quinn: I never got enough of her on the series - favorite moment: in "Harley & Ivy" when she's out-of-costume wearing that shirt and not much else. (Oh, and the one where she comes up out of the pudding.... droooooool!)
    - Catwoman: I prefer her BTAS design, when she was much more voluptuous. She oooooozed with sensuality - to this day I'm still surprised they got away with a lot of the innuendo.
    - Poison Ivy: One of my favorite moments in any BTAS eps was the one with the Harvey Dent/Poison Ivy romance where they're in a restaurant and she slinks past a table where a guy is saying just as he takes notice of her sway, "I was talking to my broker and he said--oooh!"
    - Zatanna: two words: fish net

    GI Joe Babes:
I believe this show was responsible for my first taking notice of the opposite sex.
    - Lady Jaye: hot, take-no-crap kinda gal
    - Baroness: I have a thing about chicks with glasses
    - Scarlett: Redhead - need I say more?

    Superman: TAS Babes:
    - Lois Lane: She just has the whole package going on: a very strong character, with a very sexy voice and mannerisms. (Teri Hatcher who?)
    - Lana Lang: Did I mention I love redheads?

    ReBoot Babes:
    - Dot Matrix: maybe it was the green skin, or maybe it was the glasses she wore sometimes. I have a thing about chicks wearing glasses, y'know.
    - Mouse: her voice kinda got on my nerves, but she's still one of the hottest CGI babes to date.

    Minerva Mink
Easily top 10 calibre. Very easily.

Jennifer (The Critic on Shockwave.com): Two words: Yum Mee!

Stef (Freakazoid): Ask Brian about the episode where she's wearing those shorts and you'll know why she'd make my toplist.

Elisa Maza (Gargoyles): In a word: wow. Latino females are among the most beautiful women in the world, IMO.

Annie Hughes (The Iron Giant): Simply the best-looking single mom ever to appear in an animated feature. Gorgeously animated too.

Faye Valentine (Cowboy Bebop): Would easily land a spot in my top 5. Just about the sexiest animated female character I've ever seen.

Rei Ayanami (Neon Genesis Evangelion): Very petite, but then that's my personal pref. Just the whole look of her character is extremely attractive to me.

Miss Bellum (The Powerpuff Girls): My opinion on what her face looks like? She's probably devastingly ugly, but her body is so incredible, no one ever notices her face. (Yeah, I know it sounds sexist, which I'm not at all, but then - what do you expect to see a guy say in a thread like this?)

    Disney Babes:
    - Sleeping Beauty: a little on the petite side, but that's the way I like 'em.
    - Esmerelda (Hunchback): It was the way she was animated, definitely. And those eyes too.
    - Jane Porter (Tarzan): Her character design, animation and the fact that I already like Minnie Driver quickly sent her to #2 of my favorite Disney babes
    - Belle (Beauty & The Beast): Still my favorite Disney babe

I'm surely leaving out some of my other personal faves, but my brain is tired. I might come back later and add a few more.

    Animated lassies

I'm surprised Prima (Lorelai) from the Pokemon ep "The Mandarin Island Miss Match" didn't make the cut. There's also Jessy...and in a few years Misty will be very desirable. Cardcaptor Sakura, when she's of age, will also be a vixen (presuming she takes after her mother)....
What of Teela from He-man? or She-ra? I've also been smitten with both Lydia form the animated Beetlejuice and Jasmine in Disney's Aladdin for some time--but that's more for their voices than their looks.
Pardon me while I hose myself down with ice water....

The same as any other representation of a human or other figure, realistic or otherwise. You say a cartoon cannot be judged in such ways; well, you have one viewpoint & then there's another viewpoint held by (Police Academy ref here) many, many, many people. The concept of a physically attractive cartoon character has a long history, dating back @ least to Betty Boop, whoo was @ one time deemed indecent by the Hayes Commission. Pornography laws have been applied to cartoon characters as well as to real live actors. Animated representations of the beautiful people are well represented in animation history; for instance, Lauren Bacall in Bacall to Arms. Tex Avery took the concept to the next level with his Red Hot Riding Hood character. Ralph Bakshi took it up, or down depending on your point of view, quite a few notches with the X-Rated Fritz the Cat, based upon the underground comic by R. Crumb. I'm also reminded of the .fandom crowd & the alt.tv.tiny-toon.fandom ng & the TTBS list. And if you were to say that such as Fifi LaFume, Hello Nurse, Minerva Mink, Babs Gordon (BTAS version), etc. are not attractive, you would decidedly be in the minority. In fact, it wouldn't surprise me if you were the only one here who held that opinion. But that being said, it is your opinion, & i respect & salute you for having the fortitude to say it.
If you don't like your options, make another option.

I remeber there was an interview with one of the Mainframe guys (I forget who he was except he was a part of Mainframe) the question came up if he had a crush on any of the characters. He responded that he was a drooling Mouse fan

First of all, ditto everything nftnat wrote.

I just felt like adding some of my own opinion.

If that's your opinion, fine. (Age may also be a factor here, but I won't make that an issue.) You're welcome to it, and I also respect you for it. But like nftnat said, it is a minority opinion. There are numerous fanpages to animated and comic book female characters to the contrary.

I would also point out that animation is an exaggeration of reality. I've read interviews with animators who started drawing fantasy babes because they had poor luck with women. (Where do you think the idea for "Cool World" came from?)

There's nothing wrong with fantasy and imagination. Now, when one starts obsessing over a female animated character and begins entertaining "deeper thoughts" about them, well that's going overboard and those who think that way should seek professional help. I'm not that way at all. I like to watch, but I don't need to be reminded that it's "just a cartoon" and not "real" in any way.

I can also personally attest to the fact that in real life, people do sometimes resemble cartoon characters. (Watch any Disney animated film for plenty of evidence to support that.) Some people I've seen have reminded me a lot of different animated characters. After all, art imitates reality. I knew a guy in college that looked just like Bevis, and pop singer Lyle Lovett looks like an amalgam of both Bevis AND Butthead. There was another guy I knew in college that we all called "Gary Larson", because he looked like a character from "The Far Side".

I used to work with a girl who looked exactly like Rei from "Evangelion" and I wish to everything I'd gotten a picture of her before I moved from Florida so I'd have some proof of it. I had a huge crush on the girl, and hadn't even seen "Evangelion" yet when I first met her.

I also knew a girl in college who looked very much like Petunia Pig.

Many of Bruce Timm's hottie unbearably-cute characters come from his sketches of real life females. Don Bluth apparently refuses to animate anything without live-action references. And as I mentioned above, Disney has a looooong history of using the rotoscope animation technique to capture the essence of live-action movement in animation.

There's also another facet of animated female characters that I find very alluring - the voice talents. If I took the time, I could provide links to just about every single one of some of the very pretty actresses who provide the voices of the characters in my list above. They provide an element of reality that carries it beyond just being an animated character. The character itself may be just a cartoon - but that voice is VERY real. Granted, it's also a character voice, but for the sake of illustration - have you ever SEEN Dana Delany, who voices Lois Lane? It's uncanny how much Lois resembes Dana. (Paul Dini has also mentioned that this was no accident. There was also a Bettie Page type in "Robin's Reckoning".) And Dana is very much a real life, flesh and blood hottie. (She's also got lovely auburn hair, and of course everyone here is now aware of my affection for redheads.)

And with that said, I present her official site:

    http://www.danadelany.com/

    Gookie
--won't deny having watched "Exit to Eden" once, but he'll swear he was forced to watch at gunpoint or die.
--and having said that, he wonders how it would change the meaning of certain scenes in STAS if you dubbed Dana's dialog from "Eden" over Lois' dialog in STAS...

What, no Red Hot Riding Hood? Someone even stole some of the cels from that cartoon to keep. I think she at least should have beat out Cartman's mom. I think she was even the basis for Jessica Rabbit...

Actually, I once read a book called "Reading The Rabbit" and I think it was briefly mentioned that someone on the internet (when the book was written, that is) thought Babs Bunny was sexy, and compared all others to her... I really can't say the same.

Wha...SHE'S IN LOVE WITH A MONKEY!!!

I wouldn't really be able to relate...I mean, I don't really refer to many people as babes...

But, if I were a boy...

    (5) Sedusa from the Powerpuff Girls (whaddya think she's named for?!)
    (4) Minerva Mink
    (3) Jessica Rabbit
    (2) Betty Boop
    (1) I agree with Jack...what kind of a guy wouldn't drool over Red?!

It's very easy to pretend I'm a boy....just take of the 'le'.
And besides, most people look at this type of topic unrealistically. They are all under the apparent misconception tha--oh, wait. Is my post over? Ah, okay.

Much art is an exaggeration of reality.

The Greek ideal in face and form is elongation and stylization:
    their proportions are unrealistic.

If some of Ingres's nudes were here in the flesh, they wouldn't be able to walk, or even move much. Their spines are all wrong.

Michaelangelo's women look like men, for reasons which mayn't be reprinted on a PG site.

Noting this doesn't denegrate Greek or Renaissance statuary (though Ingres could stand a few snickers). :-) Art isn't realism, but a reconfiguration and alteration of some few details of real life. I'm not saying that all animation is art, or even that all animation I like is art.

I can't track of my whole list, myself. Cartoon females tend to be drawn very attractively and all... Having tastes all over the place doesn't help.

Anyway, I have 2 points to mention...

    1. Elisa Maza is not of Latin America descent. Her mother is African American and her father came from a Hopi Native American tribe.

    2. Cartman's "mom" can not be considered a babe in any traditional sense. Cardboard-like appearance aside, this person is in fact the one who impregnated another woman with the child we know as Eric Cartman. So either this person who wrote that list is unaware of the plumbing bonus, or is seriously unhinged. Ok, so am I but this is one image I'm not big on.

Lusting after drawings, are we? (XXer's note: XYer's really ARE pathetic, aren't they?)

Anyway, since several may be wondering what the hell the 'reason' is:

    the story goes:

Michaelango was gay (gasp!). This holds that the Mona Lisa's famous little smirk is because she is a self-portrait - Michey painting himself as a woman.

and yes, Avery's Red should be on any such list.
Babs Bunny was capable of a good vamp routine, but I wouldn't include her.
