This is the talkback thread for DC Nation and Marvel Universe: Animation Domination?
Here, Macattack gives an overview of these two superhero blocks and questions if they are really in competition with each other.
Still not sure how I feel about that upcoming Hulk cartoon.....
Edit: Link fixed!

Yeah that link didn't work for me either.
I agree they're not exactly competing, in some time zones on Sunday you can watch one after the other and that's nice (be better if they were both on Saturday though).
What these two blocks do for us is compliment each other. Two blocks featuring the super heroes we know and love as well as many we are just getting to know for the first time.
We want both to succeed and grow and draw new viewers to comics and action animation.
Mac you probably should have mentioned despite DC Nation and Marvel Universe being strictly for those brands, CN is airing other action animation in the proximity of DC Nation and it stands the chance that Disney will do the same making the block of time not so different from Toonami or Jetix but now there's a block inside of that block or next to it.

I would also like to mention that the blog post is dated, I submitted it at least a week ago and only now did it make it through the queue. Clearly Marvel is promoting USM right now for example and DC Nation just premiered. This is a lesson in that I should be writing articles like these far more in advance or not at all. Though thankfully GWOtaku or whoever edited the post was able to make it more up to date so I didn't look foolish.
Sadly, what's been revealed about USM since I originally wrote the post seriously implies that it is not my cup of tea. I'm glad many people are excited for it but it just plain rubs me the wrong way. But I'm going to give it a chance to win me over.
Andrew's got a very good point about the sort-of block CN is forming and that DXD could easily do the same thing and I wish I had thought to address that.
I kind of wish that CN and DXD would revive Toonami and Jetix just to give the other action shows a home, and a "big block" where the superhero mini-blocks can be a special show-within-a-show if that makes sense.

While I'm sure they'll appreciate any kids who start reading the comics these shows are based on, I don't think that's the ultimate goal at all---that'd be for kids to buy merchandise in general based on the characters (video games, the upcoming movies featuring the characters, etc.). As it is, the comics mostly get to stay alive to generate new characters and stories to turn into way-more-lucrative TV shows and movies (as Skaar appearing in the upcoming Hulk cartoon would suggest; wonder if he's the Hulk's son in this show, as well...), plus maintain the trademarks.
Not being a Young Justice fan, I haven't seen "DC Nation"'s segments, though assume they'll be on Cartoon Network's site eventually. Not a viewer of "Avengers" either, but I do look forward to seeing "Ultimate Spider-Man"...
