American Pop (1981)
Excellent underrated cult animated drama! i think this is Bakshi's finest movie and one of my fave animated movies since i saw it on TBS 18 years ago at age 12 with those other cult not for kids animated movies. I loved it and i even bought it when it finally came to video as a teen.
Neat rotoscoping techniques and some emotion especially Zalmie's mother's death which made me cry when i was 12 and still does and a solid soundtrack from Vaudeville to 1981.
Who thinks the rotoscoping techniques in this movie is similar to modern rotoscopic animation movies like Avatar, Beowulf, Christmas Carol, Polar Express and the upcoming TinTin? and does it bridge the uncanny valley?
