I am convinced that there is tremendous value in this. I believe most transmedia campaigns have been for adult oriented shows, but this campaign for The Amazing World Of Gumball could set a valuable precedent and encourage more cartoons to follow suit. I mean, being able to follow some of your favorite characters on twitter – with material actually written by the writers – is pretty damn cool. Being able to see pictures and videos that were “taken” by those characters is even cooler. It could provide such a unique look into the world of those characters, and in doing that, has so much potential. It makes too much sense not to implement and I would love for every animated program to do this sort of thing from now on.
