If Family Guy had been made for Cartoon Network, it wouldn't have lasted NEARLY as long. Then there's the fact that it would have to be extremely toned down from the series we all know and (sometimes hate to) love.
So I stumbled upon this a while ago, and I really liked it and wanted to know your opinions on it. What if instead of the Family Guy we know today we got this on Cartoon Network instead? Do you think this version would've been just as popular, or does this lack what Family Guy has now?
Oh, and if this thread needs to be moved please do so. I just thought it'd fit under "General" since it involves both Family Guy and Cartoon Network.

Spoiler:
I think if Family Guy was on Cartoonnetwork it would have gotten toned down. If it was Adult Swim it would have gotten toned up to what it is today (Rather than progressing from the old seasons to now).
It also wouldn't have lasted nearly as long and maybe have has a slightly different art style? I don't know, usually I imagine CN and Adult Swim shows having thicker outlines on their animation. I don't think FG would have looked like Larry & Steve though.
DORK.
FG on CN would have had more 'out there' plots. Like Peter having to plan Stewie's first birthday would have had to involve a more elaborate plot, such as traveling to Mars to get the birthday cake or something.

Spoiler:
I agree that Larry and Steve wouldn't have lasted as long if it was made into a cartoon instead of Family Guy, but mostly because there's no pop culture references or their famous cut away scenes, and the plots would be more zany for a kid's cartoon, but if I was a kid I know I would've enjoyed it.

Instead of a Simpsons ripoff, it would have been a Wallace & Gromit ripoff.
I would have preferred that format though. One less animated family sitcom, on FOX.
