The Simpsons - "Four Great Women and a Manicure" - Talkback [5/10]

Broadcast Order: Season 20, Episode 20
Production Order: Season 20, Episode 9
Writers: Valentina L. Garcia
Director: Raymond S. Persi
A new episode airs tonight at 8:00 PM Eastern. Here is the synopsis:
Marge and Lisa visit the nail salon where they engage in a spirited debate as to whether a woman can be smart, powerful and beautiful all at the same time.
-
Could be an interesting ep, as long as Lisa doesn't get too preachy.
-
Hm, I don't know about this one..
-
-
Who scheduled 3-story episodes of two different shows for the same night?
I'm really starting to despise these types of Simpsons episodes. How many characters are going to be killed tonight?
-
It's a quadrilogy episode.
That's right, there going to use their new four act system to do four stories. Even if one of the acts is less than a couple minutes long.
Ouch...

Ouch...
Really??? Oh good lord.
And the first story in over within 4 minutes. Could they try any less with this show?
"...and Doc-tor Hibbert."
Because we're so stupid we didn't know who that was.
-
Oh no, this first act was incredibly rushed and not good.
I liked Ralph's "Off with my head" decree, the "nice things" chat, and Moe "finding" Grendal. Everything else was bad. I really hope this ep. improves.
-
I loved the Snow White parody.
-
Okay, this is getting ridiculous.
The ending was kinda funny.
And so is the credits!
-
Ending was abrupt. Pretty awful episode for the most part. Don't think I laughed once. Oh well.
-
That was without a doubt one of the absolute worst Simpson episodes I have ever, ever seen.
Thank goodness King of the Hill is coming up. Always a good chaser.
-
Thinking about "Lisa's Wedding" Teenage Maggie, I think the voice actually fits.
-
maggie talked
-
Bart has officially become a superfluous character....he wasn't even in this one.
-
Well, that was...weird.
1. It was pretty surprising seeing Lisa make soup out of the poor turtle, given she's a vegetarian.
2. But then it was surprising to see Marge goad Homer into becoming a murderer, and eventually literally nag him to death. Who wrote this, Butch Hartman?
3. More tired Disney dissing. *sigh*
I don't think this was one of the Simpson's best outings. The best part came at the beginning, with the Queen Elizabeth gags. And overall the episode was just...strange. I mean, if this were a Treehouse of Horror ep, I'd understand some of the wild flights of fancy, but as it was...well, it was weird.
Well, maybe next week's will be better.
-
It could've ended with the 20th Century Fox Logo made of building blocks, and it would have Bart breaking it, and Marge yelling at him for breaking Maggie's creation.
You know, there's one OTHER Snow White Parody I've seen, years ago. Months, actually. It was called "Cute First, Ask Questions Later," a FABULOUSLY Cheap Cartoon, that was like an extended version of the Snow White Story, where Snow White becomes evil, intent on being the cutest in the land, and she orders the TWO Dwarves to capture Dot, the Cute One! It had Dennis Hopper doing that "You're cute" thing, man! And it had such a FABULOUSLY Annoying narrator!
-
The second act was forgettable and the only thing saving the third act was Homer dissing Shakespeare. The only good thing from Maggie's story was Maggie's dialogue.
But yeah, this was a pretty bad episode. This was more like The Simpsons hired some random fan fiction writer from the internet.
Summary: D+
If that's not bad enough, KOTH began and I'm feeling nauseous. Thanks for the 30 minute intermission, Fox.
-
I must this: WORST EPISODE EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Cause Bart wasn't in it and episodes without the star stink worse then 30 dead skunks.
-
I thought Homer was the star. I mean, Bart was the star of the Pre-PS1 Video Games.
