Ha, what a weird name for a movie. Makes it sound like all they do for the whole movie is sit around and... do nothing.

I watched the trailer and the animation/shading looked better than Jonah, which is good. BTW, will this movie contain an analogy or recreation of a Biblical passage? From reading the plot synopsis it sounds like this is 100% original story (well, original in the sense that it doesn't take a piece of scripture and replace the characters with vegetables).

The company that originally did Veggie Tales got bought out after Jonah bombed and now the new company is going to use the characters for secularly themed movies.

Not quite. Big Idea was bought by Classic Media and no longer exists in independent form, but much of the original team is still working on it. I can't say if anything's been watered down as a result because I haven't seen the post-buyout episodes.

which said company was bought out by Entertainment Rights. By the looks of the credits, they're using Big Idea as a brand name of sorts.

I'm surprised they're making another Veggietales movie. The last one didn't do so good in theaters.

This one looks to be distributed by Universal, so they're going all out definitely.

Did the first VeggieTales movie do well? Because when I went to see the first one a few years ago, my mom, sister, and I were the only people in the theater.
It was fun, though. We got to dance around in the aisles and changed seats anytime we wanted.

The Pirates were definitely some of the funnier characters, and a few years ago, I might've been excited... but I dunno, Veggietales seems to have run out of steam. I saw the "Golden Ruler" episode a while back, and it's just not nearly as funny anymore, so I'm afraid I'm not too hopeful here.
