I LOVE Jim Carrey, he's a fantastic actor and a long-time favorite of mine.
So, even though I'm just as sick of seeing this story as everyone else...I'll probably wind up seeing this one.
Awesome. :D Yeah, that's all I got. The poster is just so mysterious.
I love the poster. It's simple yet effective and mysterious.
the info on imdb states Carrey will be voicing Scrooge and all 3 spirits
everything to follow is labeled "rumor":
Michael J. Fox- Tiny Tim
Christopher Lloyd- Jacob Marley's ghost
(BTTF reunion! w/ Zemeckis:D )
Bob Hoskins- Mr. Fezziwig
I'll see this. I've enjoyed most of the adaptations I've seen to date. My ATF is Scrogged w/ Bill Murray however I'm also fond of Mickey's Christmas Carol. I watched my VHS recording so much I think I wore it out. It's been...maybe 20+ years since I've seen it. I'll have to score that this winter.
As a Jim Carey nut I was hoping that it would be live-action, so we could see him act all crazy again and not dramatic or an animated role again, I was hoping it would be like Bill Murray's Scrooged, only with Jim Carrey being the grumpy scrooge.
I would have to disagree and say that the Muppets were in their prime when Jim Henson was still alive and calling the shots in the Muppet Movies and the Muppet Show. I love the Muppets and all but I can't say I like the Muppet Christmas Carol movie. Call me a stickler for preserving classic literature but that's the way I feel.Quote:

Not that I'm going all "LOL WHY CGI YER TAKIN' OVER MEDIA" but like.
I don't fully understand the whole "Lets use motion capture to make live-action CGI" thing. Why not just make it live-action?
You could also say that if there were way too many CGI effects in a live-action movie, why not make it CGI.
Robert Zemeckis? YES!
Jim Carrey? Noooooooo. D:
Not a fan of Jim Carrey but i love just about every version of A Christmas Carol so i know ill watch this,.
BTW that poster was great.... to bad they didint get tim curry to do the voice again like the cartoon movie he did before.
I also agree with Infusions about the Motion capture thing, it would look better if it was a live action film, Beowolf could have great, but the CGI thing kind of spoiled it for me, the models even look kind of mannequin like and robotic.
I'm passing on this. I don't need to know more. I haven't liked anything Carrey has starred in for the better part of a decade. And he's going to be in multiple roles in this? Throw in motion capture and you get a film I'm going to stay far away from.
An "A Christmas Carol" film starring Jim Carrey...
Yeah... I was just talking about how much we needed one of those...
WHOA. The poster looks a bit creepy.
I like it.
