One can't assume that because an animated feature is "cutsy" it automatically=stupid

I'm kind of tired of people looking at certain cartoons, or video games, or whatever, and automatically saying that they're stupid. Sometimes these so called "cutsy" things can pack in more quality then the "mature" stuff. Honestly what's so sophisticated about seeing some testosterone driven action hero blast away a thousand people, get some chic to back flip for him, and only mutter 3 lines of intelligent dialouge? That's mature. Then on the other hand I've heard some people down Shrek accusing it of being a cutesy fairy tale.

Seriously though we often critisize Disney for their "kiddie material" but honestly I enjoy alot of their stuff more then I do alot of live action movies. Take the Hunchback yeah I undersand that it was watered down for the Kids but still. They had all the themes about intolerance and bigotry in their, and you know pretty deep stuff.

So anyway, those are my thoughts.

I think Dog of Flanders is the animated feature I like that often gets looked upon as kiddie fare. Heck, even the box has a 3 and up sticker on it! But it is a great movie for anybody, and deals with some mature issues.

I agree, many people go down on Disney movies, simply because their to....Cute. But really, Hunchback, Aladin, Groove, Even the New Atlantis. These may be "cute", but they have very cool, adult, mature themes. They're all excelent movies. Sure, in Lion King, it seemed way to unnatural for a lion to not attack an elk. It's simple Nature. But it still showed intelegence.

And Atlantis is no kids movie. It's very mature, full of visible death, real world stuff, etc. It's not a kids film, trust me! There's a chain smoker in it! And he's one of the coolest characters.

So...even while PPG is "Cute", we all know it's anything but stupid.
