No one can ever replace Frank Welker.
In modern times, for the most part, Frank Welker has had a lock on being the VA who provides the voices for creatures/animals in animation. However it seems recently Dee Baker has been providing the voices for various animated creatures (like in Teen Titans and Avatar). Is Dee being breed to be Frank's replace, when he can no longer voice act? Does Dee measure up to frank in terms of voicing creatures?

What? Frank Welker no longer voice act? He'll be voice acting well into the 31st century.
Seriously, I can't answer your question, but I do like Dee Baker and think he's a great voice actor. (I love Klaus on American Dad, but to me, Baker will always be Olmec from Nick's Legends of the Hidden Temple.)

Well as long we don't hear him perform as Daffy anymore, I welcome him as the new go-to guy for animal sounds.
Wow, this was the topic I was thinking of doing in some form or another after seeing that Avatar article about him doing all the creatures in that show. Perhaps he hasn't reached Frank Welker level yet but Dee is at least the second closest to being able to get into his "inner beast" and come across a wide range of animal voices. It'd be interesting to see them try and "out animal" each other, that's for sure. I'd probably have to give it to Frank though since he does have more expierence but like The Overlord said no one lives forever and Mr. Welker is closer to... retirement then Mr. Dee Baker.
Instead of just using this new signature to celebrate a thousand more post, let me list of all the great things you can expect of me on this board for 2012:

I don't think that either Frank Welker or Dee Bradley Baker really thinks that way. Even if they did, "the best laid plans" and all that. Mel Blanc was grooming his son Noel to take over his voice acting career, and he did for a while. It definitely ain't Noel Blanc doing the voices of most of the W-B characters now, though, and despite whatever Mel or Noel was planning.

While there's certainly no set title or position for Baker to inherit, I'd definitely say that he seems the best poised to start taking jobs if and when Welker starts feeling too old to do as much as he does.

Yeah, for that matter. If Frank ever did become unable to do voices, the hardest character to replace would most likely be Fred Jones of "Scooby-Doo" fame. He really brought life to that character and I feel like hardly anybody could do the voice as well as he does.![]()

Ma Arbuckle: You weren't thinking of putting chili powder in my sausage gravy now, were you, grandma?
Grandma: No. Heavens to betsy, child. Why would you think such a thing? Just because my chili gravy won a blue ribbon at the county fair and yours didn't even place. Who am I to tell you how to make sausage gravy? The Green County gravy champion, that's who.
Dee Baker might. I mean all good things must come to an end
