Honestly, this is pretty old news. I think it was announced at least a year ago. But even though that there has been no network officially named, my money is on Cartoon Network.

So says George Lucas. No network's been named yet, but it'll be in 3-D and will use "nobody famous", in Mr. Lucas' words, in terms of who's doing voices.

Yep. Soon after Chapters 21-25.Originally Posted by Samurai Quack

That's the live action show. They're doing that and this, a CGI Clone Wars.Originally Posted by Duke

Beware The Almighty Hammer Gun!
There doesn't seem to be any mention of Luke, but I really can't see any place they can squeeze in another series between the movies, but it could still happen. I can't imagine a more dead area than between III and IV
3D? I wonder why they want to change the style? Very few studios actually pull off good 3D CGI.
To jumpstart Lucas's new CG animation studio in Singapore. He mentions how they're starting off on TV animation, but that they'll eventually want to jump into the theatrical market.Originally Posted by Kagetsu

So this is year-old news, huh?
Yeesh. Either I'm losing it, or I already lost it a long time ago.

This is good news and all but
WTF? That series didn't use limited animation at all in fact the animation was pretty goood if I remember right. The show is planned as a continuation of the Emmy-winning "Clone Wars" that aired in 25 episodes on the Cartoon Network from 2003 to 2005. That series used limited animation.
While I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with the live-action STAR WARS series, I was hoping they'd go another direction with the animated series. I really hated CLONE WARS. They were too short, I hated the character designs, and it was just really... bad. I'm sure it would have been better if they hadn't put the guy from SAMURAI JACK in charge. A Bruce Timm animated SW series would have been much better. I love his take on the SW characters. (But obviously, he was busy with another little project.)
Limited animation simply means that it wasn't done in a realistic way. Your various Flash series and shows like Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls and Samurai Jack would all fit in to the category.Originally Posted by jv2k

George Lucas said he'd only let CN do the Clone Wars shorts if they let Genndy do them. He said he loves Genndy's animation. While you may have hated Clone Wars, I loved it. It was some of the best animation I've seen in terms of fluid movement and storyline telling, and I did think it was better than some of the DCAU stuff.Originally Posted by Michael24

"Hey, Slick!"
a CGI Clone Wars probably won't be anywhere near as good as the original 2D Clone Wars series. While I wish George much success on his CGI show, I think he'd better keep Genndy's number handy.
BTW, if any of you 'Toonsters out there are fortunate enough to have Boomerang (that makes four of us), the original Clone Wars miniseries is airing on that channel. They're shown right after shows like JL and BTAS, late at night.
