yeah ebert gave it 4 stars
I have read good reviews of Shrek, until I came across one at the Phantom Tollbooth website. They seem to be complaining that it isn't Disneyized. I think they really miss the point of the movie.

Yet another example of why I hate all critics. All except for Mr. Cranky.![]()
While not all critics are bad, I find this review to be very laughable. I think everyone knows that Shrek is a take on Disney films, and it succeeds at alot of levels. Makes me wonder about this reviewer...

Yeah, age is another thing all to itself. See now I've always said I hate all critics (except Jay Sherman) but does anyone listen to me? Nooooo.Originally posted by mxyzptlk

I'm not even going to talk about this idiot who TOTALLY missed the point of this movie. It's like that idiot that expects pen and ink animation to be the way of the past, only wanting CGI and things of that nature. Well I'm sorry to interrupt you from all the shiny things, but that doesn't always make an ACTUAL good movie.
They don't know what we want.
