    AMV's - a biting question...

    Like This Thread!
Ok stay with me on this one.

I'm browsing youtube for Pinky and the Brain clips but a vast majority of the clips I'm finding are "AMV"s combining anime visuals with the P&TB theme song. But this isn't unique. I find a lot of videos (Youtube or otherwise) that take anime clips of some sort and add background music/dialogue/theme songs from American made cartoons.

    Why do people do this?

The only reason I can give you is that Japanese studios did a number of American shows, like how TMS worked on Tiny Toons & Sonic-X (both shows have ther inbetweens done by Telecom), and Toei worked on Sunbow's GI Joe & Doremi, it might not be a good reason, but it's all I can think of right now.

Sure Famicom, like you need an excuse. Besides, I've seen this done for stuff like Mystery Science Theater, let alone the fact that (aside from only one epidose) the Pinky and the Brain series was never animated in Japan.

Arrg never mind. Forget I asked.

There you go again with that again. That is not a reason because no anime fan would care if an American cartoon had animation done in Japan.

The only reason I have is that they just probably do it for fun.

    1) The only thing I'm hearing about this from hear, is that John K. and other Spumco staff (and huge Ren & Stimpy/other shows from Spumco fans, but now Spumco is now gone) are the only types of people who cares whos doing the animation, I know thers more then that.

    2) That can be true as well.

They just want to make others who enjoy both shows laugh not to annoy people with biased feelings toward american animation or anime.

YES. You always say these things and then later you reveal that you had no idea what you were talking about in the first place.

Is anyone else absolutely sick of this? I did make this thread after all, but it's creation must have acted like some sort of bat signal for Famicom to show up and start going on about TMS again.

AMVs of this sort are most likely supposed to be funny.

TMS should animate every cartoon ever made. Then this board would be alot better.*

On-topic: People do that stuff because it can result in funny stuff. (i.e. Trigun clips + Freakazoid theme = TOTAL HILARITY)

Off-topic: I think TMS should be in charge of every cartoon and do it in the style of Magic Knight Rayearth.

I think TMS is god man. They animated Lupin and Case Closed. How can you go wrong with that? TMS should animate One Piece, Naruto, Bleach, Inuyasha, and any Gundam show that comes out(I'm going there Hellcat). Don't you agree Famicom?

    1) Yes TMS did both shows.

    2) One Piece is done by Toei, Naruto & Bleach are done by Studio Pierrot and Gundom & Inuyasha (other then that Inuyasha/Conan bit) are done by Sunrise, not TMS.

    3) if you like TMS, then watch something done (the inbetweens) by Telecom, ther worked with TMS on Tiny Toons & most of ther episodes of Animaniacs.

    4) Your way off topic.

Sorry guys, but since PC-Famicom isn't getting the point, and per request of the topic starter, I'm locking this.

You guys can continue discussing AMVs on another thread, but no more off-topicness, PLEASE.
