Gotta give this one to PTV.

Well, I hope "Foster's" wins ("Lazlo" was nominated for something? That hideous piece of boring dreck????) But how come the "Foster's" Imaginary Man ep wasn't nominated? Was it eligible? Because if ANY ep of "Foster's" deserves an Emmy...Originally Posted by Mr Cat Dog
Wait... Camp Lazlo? Who the hell is nominating these things? Why not Teen Titans or Spongebob Squarepants?

COMPLETELY REVAMPED AFTER LOOKING AT EMMY WINS-
Well, Family Guy is the one that deserves it the most- "Trapped" is (probably) only up there because of controversey.
I thought the comission who nominates shows for the Emmys would've instead pick 'Cartoon Wars' instead of 'Trapped in the Closet.' Then again, the episode that permired probably passed the deadline of April 1st. In my opinion, 'PTV' will win the Emmy category hands down. Censorship has been a huge topic since 2004 and 'PTV' did a great job describing and making fun of the issue and how we can't always monitor everything.
I also want to congratulate My Life As A Teenage Robot for being Emmy nominated for their tv movie that aired back in August 2005 titled 'Escape from Cluster Prime.'
Disappointing year when it comes to the Animated Programs (Hour or Less) category. The Simpsons choices was kinda "meh" (of course, the Simpsons have been losing steam in recent recent years). There were way better episodes of South Park that could have represented it this year (i.e. the episode where Chef joins the Super Adventures Club and the "Cartoon Wars" two-parter). As for Family Guy, personally, I felt that PTV is just as overrated as the Lethal Weapons episode.
BTW, I believe the Emmy cut-off date is May 31st, not April 1st.

"Trapped in the Closet"? Hell, why not just submit "Smug Alert" cause it has equal chances. There were episodes this past season much more deserving of the nom. This just ensured South Park doesn't get it this year, so Looks like Family Guy will take home the prize.
Still, good luck to all the nominees. (Camp Lazlo???, whatever)

Ick... none of these nominees are overly appealing. Guess the past year for primetime animation was worse than I thought (or they just don't want to nominate SpongeBob/Fairly OddParents or something...).
My choices:
Hour or less:
Should win: South Park (only since the other choices I find, well, dreadful...and agree with the others on how the flippin' heck did a lousy show like Camp Lazlo merit nomination?!).
Will win: Family Guy or The Simpsons (the former, the "hip" show-of-the-moment; the latter, "ol' reliable", plus they can say they're "hip to what's current in animation"/might be the only cartoon out of these some of the voters have ever watched or heard of)
Hour or more:
Should win: Not sure (not having seen either one)
Will win: No idea; a show about a teenage robot vs. something educational---who knows what the judges (who probably aren't thrilled with either choice) will go...
Should win: Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends
Will win: South Park
Should not have been nominated: Family Guy
Trapped in the Closet was a good episode, and all the attention it generated will help it win. But, I think that Foster's is an all around fantastic show, and needs more recognition. PTV was one of the few really good and well-written Family Guy episodes, but this is an award for animation, and the animation on that show, at it's best, has always been pretty poor.

Actually, the award is for animated program. They don't just look at the animation.Originally Posted by Zubby

"PTV" is my pick. This is one year where I won't be truly disappointed if the Simpsons episode wins, because it was an episode that clearly had some effort put into it even though it wasn't all that funny. "Trapped In The Closet" was one of my favorite season 9 South Park episodes, but I do consider it pretty flawed (most of the "closet" segments fell flat), and I think "PTV" is far more deserving overall. However, I won't be disappointed if SP wins, especially with the added bonus of being a slap in the face to Scientology. Not that that's extremely uncommon these days.

THIS MONTH'S UPDATE: Christmas Countdown! 25 Christmas songs of interest.
Does it say something when Nick gets no less-than-an-hour nominees and CN gets two? Especially when right now, CN probably only had two worthy of a nod at all (Foster's and either Teen Titans or Justice League Unlimited, take your pick). Nick probably has at least twice that many (Spongebob, Fairly Oddparents, Jimmy Neutron, and Avatar).
I wonder why everybody keeps dumping on Camp Lazlo. It's kid-friendly and imaginative. Maybe that's not what us teens and adults like, but hey, there's a boatload of stuff out there that's much worse. Did Lazlo deserve an Emmy-nomination? No. But hey, it's probably the long shot among the nominees anyway, and something much worse could've been nominated instead.
Eh, I don't know why I'm beating around the bush anyway. Family Guy and "PTV" will most likely win, given what Fan of Sponge said above. Personally, I don't remember liking that episode all that much, but sometimes you gotta give it to the one that goes above and beyond the call of duty to accomplish what it set out to do. Even if it doesn't make it.![]()

But that doesn't mean a show which has poor animation deserves to win. Quality of animation has to be one of the criteria used to judge entries. Otherwise, why have an animated program catagory at all?Originally Posted by Master Moron
As long as we're talking quality, where's the nomination for Avatar, the Last Airbender? Any episode from that show would compete very well against the other nominated shows.

Hasn't every Animated Series Emmy in the last few years gone to something out of left field? South Park won last year and I don't think anyone saw that coming for "Best Friends Forever." Futurama's best episodes lost to a lousy Simpsons episode and then to Samurai Jack.
It's going to be either Lazlo or Foster's. Sorry, but the Academy members are just that odd.

I notice that there's no action shows nominated at all. Only comedies.Originally Posted by Zubby
