What made Kid's WB think they know what they're doing CN/KWB crossover conspiracy.)
As we all know KWB and CN are in the midst of a whole cross promotion things. The powers that be at Warner are "Working with" (IMO forecing) the people at CN to cross promote with them. They've descided to refocus Toonami at kids (before it was intended for kids "and" adults) and even cut it by an hour. This makes me think that Keilner and co actually think they know what they're doing better then the people at CN do.
Now it get's kinda tricky, stick with me it isn't really difficult to understand, and I apologise in advance for bad punctuation & spelling.
Okay we all know that this marrige sanctioned by all the evil in the universe is coming to pass, and I have a theory on why there is more to it then meets the eye? If you notice the new CN begins at 5:00 right when KWB ends. Last year and at the start of this one Toonami began at 4, which meant that KWB weekdays and Toonami were on at the same time (aka they're competing: on the cable level anyway) for about an hour stretch. I'm thinking that the folks at the WB felt threatened and axed the 4-4:30 slot (GundamW, Ronin and Sailor Moon most often filled this spot) because they feared the ratings (it being Toonami's highest rated slot, along with CCF) and descided to eliminate some competition for KWB (Gundam and SM where getting fairly good ratings as well.) Thus only leaving Fox and maybe Disney to battle it out (and we know how KWB vs Fox kid's usually turns out.) So KWB kind of herds people into their programing, and then after they're are done boom back to Toonami where they can continue to advertise there shows.
Think I'm crazy, or should I be scared? Will they send a robot after me disguised as one of my family to keep me silent?

I Know That im Gonna Get It For Agreeing With You But!
I was going to write, something like on the line of the cross over bettween Kids WB! and Cartoon Network Myself earlier on,but I didn't want people here to get annoyed with me,Im trying to keep a peaceful, not getting on people's nerves, still wanting me to stay around feeling here (No slam on anyone here,im just respecting your feelings and friendship),I understand how they must feel when they see, someone always post the same old same old,but I also know they would rather let me,express myself here, and let it all out, than keep it in, and get an ulcer or have a heart attack,so they knowing were I come from and others, let us post, posts (meaning clean ones,I don't mean bad, that I agree totaly with, you can let people know how you feel without cussing) like these,to express how we feel,so here It Go's.
I say Jamie Kellner Had This All Planned Way Back In 1997,After He Cancelled Freakazoid And EarthWorm Jim Of Kids WB!,Jamie Kellner Worked his way up,to his main plot and scem, getting control of Cartoon Networks Programming Toonima block and so forth and so on,I agree with you totally,on Jamie Kellner Pullng to popular Toonima Cartoons off Cartoon Network,Because He Felt Threatened By Them,It's True,That's His Game,He's As Crafty As Satan I'll Tell You, notice how before took over how suddenly Freakazoid Got moved to 5:30 A.M. Tuesday-Staurday,Jamie Keller Hated Freakazoid,EartWorm Jim Ect.
Meaning Jamie Kellner Already Was Setting Up House At Cartoon Network Back In January 2001,Also As For You Saying That Now Kids WB! Would Only have to battle it out with Walt Disney And Fox Kids (Which To Kids WB! is always a winning battle To Jamie Kellner's Kids WB! when it comes to Fox Kids) Kellner Used Slyness to gain control,so He could destroy Cartoon Network,And Make Kids WB! NO. 1,I really believe this, just like you, I think Jamie Kellner is a liying, uncaring, selfish, punk, brat (meaning a 1 Year Old mind and heart).
Jamie Kellner's Plan All along was to gain control OF CARTOON NETWORK ONE DAY,IM NOT STUPID,once again notice how he put Freakazoid,Animaniacs,Tiny Toons, Waynehead,Road Rovers,Loony Tunes Ect. (And Just Were The Heck Did EarthWorm Jim Go,That Was A great Cartoon,I deserves to at least rerun,if not air all new)Over To Cartoon Network,to make fans think that, somehow if he got control of Cartoon Network That He Would trun around and listen to the fans and viewers tis time for once, And Make All New Episodes And All New Seasons Freakazoid,Animaniacs,Waynehead,Road Rovers Superman,Batman ect. and bring them back, but instead,he gets control of Cartoon Networks Toonima,to bring it down,by getting rid of the Cartoons Getting Higher Ratings Than Kids WB!'s Cartoons,so Kids WB!'s Cartoons Can Get More Ratings And Not Cartoon Network,I wish I could blam Jamie Kellner For Pinky And The Brain Moving To 5:30 A.M. weekdays on Nickelonden, same time Freakazoid's On Cartoon Network But I Can't This Time,But I Can Blam Jamie Kellner For Putting Pinky And The Brain On Nickolden,I really hate that idea.

A1LFEHKJA, I think your theory is just to far convoluted and out there to be even believeable. You make it sound like Kellner has it out for every carton that, coincidentially, you like. That's not the case. I just find how you say that Kellner had this planed for 4 years is just unbelieveable. I remember in all your posts, you always seem to list the same shows, an dhow Kellner is threatened by them. And the thing is, if those shows make money, then there is nothing to be threatened by. The shows got axed either becuase the ratings were low, or they were only contracted for a certain amount of episodes (like MIB and Batman Beyond)
This makes me wonder why alot of people think there is a huge conspiracy behind everything Kellner, KWB, or CN does. All they are doing is marketing and making money. If that means axing some of the shows we enjoy, then that happens. And the new Toonami schedule? This came about THIS year, not four years ago. It will officialy kick into gear next fal when KWB will rename their afternoon block TOONAMI as well. Al this isn't a conspricay to get certain shows cancelled. It just still boggles the mind when fans claim this is all a conspiracy when all it is is marketing and profiting.
Yes, Kellner may be a jerk or whatever, and his goal IS to make Kids'WB! and CN #1, that is the goal of any executive, but I don't see how it's a conspiracy.

But DG some of these moves have not been good things, again I go back to the way they killed Pinky and the Brain, by adding (I find myself coming back to it alot) Elmyra.
Then there was the stuff where they added a bunch of shows that completly bombed (most of them revolved around kids but there where the occasional stinkers like Umpte 3 and the horrible Brats OTLN. How could you argue that these where good moves for KWB? Plus the complete lack of shows that followed in the Tiny Toons, Animaniacs, Pinky and the Brain, and Freakazoid legacy? They don't have a franchise like A! to stake everything on anymore do they?
I wouldn't say I believe the whole 4 years thing but A1LFEHKJA has some good points.
Meanwhile Toonami was doing just fine, but now they atre targeting kids. I ask you DG how is isolating and turning yur back on a whole age demographic (teens-young adults in this case) ever prophitable?
BTW I still don't see Cardcaptors or the majority of KWB's shows having the popularity of Sailor moon or even the Gundam sagas (except maybe BB.) In that case it "really" wouldn't make sense to axe them.
-
I'm not saying it's a good thing. Most of the things they have done have backfired horribly, like BRATS. But every network makes mistakes. And no, all these chages aren't good for us, but it's drawing in the demographic that the execs want. The execs are making shows that appeal to their demographic. Remember, it's KidsWB!, not TeenWB! The shows they are making are appealing to the demo they want. Obviously, they don't want to appeal to teens or adults becuase they assume only kids watch the channel. In that sense, by making kiddie shows, they'll get the kiddie audience. While it may not be a good thing for us fans, it's making them money.

I'm not saying it is. Again, the execs have the notion that cartoons are for kids, and will therefore kiddiefy the programs, drawing in more of the kid market, therefore getting a profit in the demo they want. They likely will ignore the fact that their teen and adult audiences will slip, but what they want are the kid audiences. Why? Becuase kids buy all those toys advertised, and that makes commercial time cost more, meaning CN gets paid more to air commerials. That's profit. They assume adults buy toys, only kids. Once again, this isn't good for us, but they don't care. As long as they get their ratings, they're happy.
Don't shoot the messenger.
-
But DG again, Toonami "Was" appealing to kids just fine. Seriously do you think it was the teenagers sending in alot of those drawings (okay some but alot were not), and who do you think was buying the DBZ, Sailor moon, and GundamW toys. In short Kid's loved it but now I fear that forcefeeding them 8 tons of DBZ may spoil it. Again I resort to the followers of the Greek god Apollo.
"Nothing in exces everything in moderation."
I'm not saying it is. Again, the execs have the notion that cartoons are for kids, and will therefore kiddiefy the programs, drawing in more of the kid market, therefore getting a profit in the demo they want.
But can't they see the statistics with their own eyes?
-
I think you just summed up what I was getting at. Kids aren't the only people who watch cartoons and the like. But execs don't care about that. They know the real money is in all the kids, and therefore they try to appeal more to them than the teens. Doing this will isolate the teen and adults, but as long as they have the kids, they're happy. And they see the statistics (heck, the show them in press releases) but they want the kids.
-
But what i'm saying is you "can" get the large younger audience and that older one as well. It's two birds with one stone. Why wouldn't someone want that?
-
Don't ask me. I don't work for CN. The whole Kellner is working with doesn't make sense to me, but it does to him. Yes you can get a larger audience. TELETOON makes sure it apeals to kids, tenn, and adults by dividing the day into three section and airing specific shows them. I'd love if CN would figure that out. TELETOON is only a few years old and they already know the goal is to appeal to everyone, not just the rugrats.
