Makes me wonder if this episode will air tomorrow or "Insane in the Membrane".Because you never know with 4Kids...
Episode 4.23 (24): Good Genes, part 1
Original Air Date: April 1, 2006
Written by Christopher Yost
Previously on TMNT: Donny mutates, fights his family, and is captured. The turtles vow to return him to normal. Stockman gets resurrected. Mutants still roam throught New York. The network loses an episode.
This week on TMNT: In their search for a clue, the turtles head to Area 51 (Location Classified). What do they find in Bishop's home base? Well, lets just say that the E.P.F. is gonna need a whole lot more funding after this.

So Karai's been added to the mix now...I didn't think she'd show up again before the season ended. Anyone else get the impression that she goes to that room and whines to the mystics every so often?
Who was Bishop talking to in the beginning? The mysterious tribunal, perhaps?
Looks like "Insane in the Membrane" also introduced the new helicoptor. Odd as they already had a helicoptor to work with (back from season 1).
Leatherhead still has his anger problem. Though I have to ask: I can buy Leatherhead already having been to Bishop's base (as a convinent plot device to get everyone there quickly), but why would he have been moved back to NY when the Turtles found him at the beginning of season 3? What would make Bishop decide to take a specimen back?
Right now I have no clue how they're gonna wrap up all these plot threads before the season ends. But I hope they do...
Note to self: No More Heroes avatar in use since April 10/2009. Previous avatar lasted 2 years, 9 months and 4 days!!! Holy Stale Avatar Batman!!
So they're sending the Turtles after the Heart of Tengu. They also hint that the Shredder wasn't even their original master. I would really like to see what happens in the lost season, forget the Fast Forward series.
Pretty decent episode. Lots of good drama in this one with the turtles going to Bishop's base and having Bishop deal with the strange figure.
It seems that there are other forces at work pulling Bishop's, the turtles, and the foot's strings. I wonder who they could be!
Oh and the fight between Gamera Don and Leatherhead was a joke! Some fight that was!![]()
I can't wait to see what happens next week when the turtles have to go after the heart of Tengu at the foot's lair!

today's ep, I hope now we can put to rest that "Insane in the Membrane" took place between "The Trouble with Augie" & the Savanti 2-parter.
I believe the mystery transmission was probably a forgery by the Foot Mystics. Since they can't directly revolt against her, they can still influence others to do their work...or perhaps it was by the Ninja Tribunal. The Mystics are probably affiliated w/ them. This could be playing out like the Gargoyles arc when Lord Oberon returned to Avalon & called his children home.
3 eps left![]()

I wonder what it means with the Foot Mystic, will that mean the Turtles will have a certain degree of control over the Mystics with control of the stone. I'm hoping we get to see the Foot Elite do something instead of just stand there. I would like to see what their transition has been. I would also like to know, who joins the Foot? This has always been a question of mine, but where do they live? What is their off-hours time like?![]()
wow, i really liked todays episode, i really think they might be able to wrap a lot of stuff by cramming it all together as one big thing,
and i don't know i am kind of interested in fast forward right now for some reason, it seems like an interesting change after all the drama going on right now.
man this show needs to be rerun by another channel, it is very 'rich' and has tons of episodes for it to work on a m-f basis....oh well...
Leo pretty much made the same line he said durring City At War today, "It might be a Deal with the Devil but at least it's a devil we know". this time it's "It might be a deal with the Devil but what other choice do we have."
Leo also repeats his, "Be ready, for anything," line quite a bit.
This episode was excellent, I loved it from beginning to end. Pretty much everything was done right, I can't find one thing to gripe about from this episode.
The best scene in the ep was when Leo was shooting Don with the tranquilizers to stop him, especially the slow motion walking as Leo was firing at the screen. Incredible.
We got Karai, The Foot Mystics, Bishop, Baxter, the mysterious tribunal creature, great continuity with Leatherhead, and a pseudo-alliance between the TMNT and Bishop.
If I *must* gripe about something, it's that Karai is still a moron. If Leo gives her ANOTHER "last chance" next time (how many last chances has he given her so far, anyone kept count? I think it's around 5 or something) I'll have given up all hope on the Foot clan storyline.
Great episode.
I would really like to see Fast Forward as a season story arc surrounding finding a cure for Donatello's mutation, so when they return to the present, the mysterious figures, the Foot Mystics, etc. will still be valid storylines throughout the series continuity.

Actually, what they said was ,"The Shredder is our master", and something along the lines of, 'not you, and not that utrom imposter' So, maby there was a HUMAN Shredder at one point in time before Utrom Shred ever landed on Earth?
I definetly notice a change in Leatherheads voice. Maybe something happened between those two eps that caused it to happen? I just 'love' it when characters refer to a voice change when it's necessary to plot, but never any other time when the actor is different.
I have a feeling that the human Oroku Saki was the original Shredder and who won the battle nexus tournament.Originally Posted by TheShredder565
I'm thinking that's the allusion being made. The Mystic follow whoever possesses the Heart of Tengu, but whoever possesses it assumes control of the Foot and the Shredder persona. I wonder how many Shredders there were because the Utrom one ruled for hundreds of years.
Excellent episode--I can't believe I once thought Season 3 was the best this show could offer.
Random thoughts:
Is anybody getting serious City of Stone (Gargoyles) vibes from this whole outbreak storyline? A plague unwittinly unleashed upon New York by the Big Bad. An ally getting infected, and now a deal with the devil. Fortunately for us, the outbreak seems to be something they won't be able to solve throught magic, if TMNT: Fast Foward is any indication.
I lurrrve Bishop; he's like, the perfect villain. That simple "yes" of him at the end was simply sublime. On that note, I'm loving Leatherhead's attitude throught all this; he adds just the right amount of perspective to what's happening.
You know, I'm surprised that the characters haven't mentioned using the Atlantean crystals to try to reverse the mutations, even if they are currently unaccesible--it worked once, after all. In fact, I'm surprised they haven't tried to tie the mutant outbreak story to the whole Underground storyline--I want to see Sydney again.
Okay, even thought it still doesn't make any sense to me, it seems increasingly more obvious that Stockman's Frankenstein body is from Insane in the Membrane--I just don't see how they'd manage to incorporate him in the two remaining episodes.
I can think of several reasons. Information on the turtles. Easy access to the body for experiments after the turtles' dissection. A bargaining chip. It's in no way improbable.Simpler Simon:Though I have to ask: I can buy Leatherhead already having been to Bishop's base (as a convinent plot device to get everyone there quickly), but why would he have been moved back to NY when the Turtles found him at the beginning of season 3? What would make Bishop decide to take a specimen back?
That's one way of looking at it, I guess. Personally, I think his outburst was just his (justified) hatred for Bishop, and not directly connected to his "problem"; if he were still Season three's "angry" Leatherhead, I have no doubt he'd have tried to kill Donatello during their fights.Leatherhead still has his anger problem.
Odd indeed, although not unjustifiable. Given the choice between a civilian helicopter and a military helicopter designed for stuff like mutant outbreaks, I'd take the military one as well.Looks like "Insane in the Membrane" also introduced the new helicoptor. Odd as they already had a helicoptor to work with (back from season 1).
Well, unless you're counting the whole time they were allies, just the one, really. I mean, they've only truly become enemies in Exodus, and they have only fought once since then. Plus, it's not like it's all one-sided: Karai had spared the turtles lives quite a few times in the last season , and the turtles still chose to fight the Shredder when it came down to it.CyberCubed: How many last chances has he given her so far, anyone kept count?
I agree. I've said since Shredder was revealed to be an Utrom that he probably STOLE the identity of Oroku Saki. That would make for a sick way to bring back the Shredder...the REAL Shredder that is.Originally Posted by serpycommander
People sometimes complain about Shredder being an Utrom, but with the continuity and twisted plots this show has, it seems pretty likely that they really have kept in the spirit of the original comics and Shredder really was Japanese.
Complete with that red coustume, now that would be more badass.Originally Posted by Aztec
