Yay! The episode that cursed us with those crappy Paleo Patrol toys. I want Rat King and Agent Bishop, but it'll take months to clear the dead weight out of the toy isle.
Episode 4.20: Return of Savanti Romero, pt. 1
Original Air Date: March 11, 2006
Written by Christopher Yost
Previously on TMNT: It was simply not his day: horned demon and mexican hearthrob Savanti Romero, banished to the fifteenth century by Lord Simultaneous, had just gotten his hands on the mystical Time Sceptre, only to have it taken away by Lord Simultaneous' apprentice Renet, four turtles, and his treasonous pet dragon. As if that wasn't bad enough, he was once against banished, this time to the Cretaceous Age.
This week, on TMNT: However, Savanti is not without some power. Now, it's up to Renet to stop him, and for that, she'll need some allies--guess who those are. The countdown to episode 100 continues!

Television Blows. So enjoy it.

"I imagine this will be the last time we speak..." David Palmer to a fugitive Jack Bauer in last year's season finale.
"Allow me to put on my analrapy stocking for just a second..."-Tobias Funke, analrapist, on his new branch of psychology mixing analysis and therapy.
Is it dusting again? Ah well, at least the preview is decent.![]()

This episode was ok. Nice to see the Turtles did not forget Zog. Not as good as last weeks though.

Nope, it's not dusting. This time it is Renet having to take her final exam and having the turtles help out.![]()
This episode was decent. Normally, I don't like time travel episodes but this one actually wasn't too bad.
W00t for Zod, pre-anthropomophism period! And his love for chips!

While Savanti didn't appear till the end of the episode and the turtles had to make due with survival in the Cretaceous period, it was handled decently. My favorite scene was the stampede where the turtles had to dodge and jump from one dino to the next till they reached a safe ledge. I thought that was animated beautifully!![]()
POP QUIZ: What does next week's episode and Yu-Gi-Oh! have in common?

So the Turtles already have their new moving van. I wish that had been shown onscreen.
Loved the Savanti head. Really creepy.
Oooh, Zog.
Dinosaurs can smell potato chips?
Anyone else reminded of the Simpsons Treehouse of Horror when Homer goes back in time with the toaster?
Overall the episode was really a setup for part two, but it was still good fun. A little puzzled how Savanti warrants a two-parter, but maybe we'll find out next week.
Note to self: No More Heroes avatar in use since April 10/2009. Previous avatar lasted 2 years, 9 months and 4 days!!! Holy Stale Avatar Batman!!
My comments:
1) The triceratops smelling Raph's butt = funny!![]()
2) Mikey is really the annoying kid brother of the bunch. Donny tells him that he made have changed history by feeding a chip to the dino. After hearing this, Mikey throws a second to the hungry dino.
3) Anyone get a Simpsons vibe when Donny scared off the raptor by sneezing? In one of the Simpsons Halloween eps, Homer kills off the dinosaurs with a sneeze. Maybe Donny's the real reason for the dinos going extinct. Hmm, somebody take note that I said this first if it's revealed next week!![]()
4) In the previews, I noticed Romero's bone armor shared some similarities with Shredder's. Connections?

I think it's "Zog"
i liked the message from Savanti bit, that was sweet
wonder what's in store next wk
#100 just 2 wks off: 1 hr special?

Haha, I thought of The Simpsions as well. That would have been pretty funny if all the dinosaurs started dropping down after Donny sneezed.
Ooh, Renet knows April, and say's "Oh wait, that hasn't happened yet?"
Comic fans know what that bit was about, and that was quite surprising.
Renet pwns.

THIS MONTH'S UPDATE: Christmas Countdown! 25 Christmas songs of interest.
Didn't Savanti's skull head in the museum remind anyone of Skeletor's goat-headed staff?![]()
Ooohh...more foreshadowing. I love it!Originally Posted by Cybercubed

It is probably for the best that I do not know."
Sure it's an overused gag but Splinter's delivery just made seem pretty funny to me.
If anyone comes up and asks "Are you a spy?" just say "Yes! Can't you read? But I'm undercover!" - Don Patch
He who is tired of Weird Al, is tired of life. - Homer Simpson
ok one I guess
"A black moon will rise onto the sky tonight a moon of darkness that'll swallow the world" - Chikane
"Piccolo sounds like hes ****ting out 7 days of Chinese food in 20 seconds" - OlyJeebus
It was a good one. I liked that the turtles were in a place I had been to in New York. Even though the dinos are like four floors above the room with the sea creatures and giant whale.Funny the preview made it seem like Don was alone.Renets line was probably just a nod to the comics.
I forgot to mention that 4Kids is now hyping the upcoming 100th episode on TV with their 100 facts about the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Not to mention that the 100th episode will be a one hour special! Rock!![]()

They're probably airing episode 100 and 101 back to back.
Aaagh! Needless exposition! Stay back! Achoo! *Exposition retreats*. Yes, that beginning was very weak, surprisingly so for this series.
Ahh, "To be continued...". It's like seeing an old friend again. Good times.
Lots of questions raised by this episode. How did Savanti know of the turtles' location? Why is the Time Sceptre not working? Can Savanti really make good on his threats? What's Lord Simultaneous' stake in all this, and does it have something to do with last episode's Mysterious Shadowy People of Shadowy Mystery? Will the writers continue to use Gargoyles time travel rules like they did in Time Travails (and here, apparently) or will they disregard them?
I really don't think Renet's comment to April is supposed to be foreshadowing for that particular story--it's not the kind of tale that would translate well to cartoon form. More likely, something having to do with Fast Foward.CyberCubed: Comic fans know what that bit was about, and that was quite surprising.
Count me in as one of those who "awwwed" when Mike named the triceratops Zog. It's nice to see they remember.
Finally, Savanti Romero! That preview looked absolutely wicked. Can't wait to see what happens.
You guys think that maybe Mikey's potato chips created the Triceratons?![]()
No that would be a cheap and IMHO lame way to connect an alien race with Earth.
