April 6, 1906 saw what is regaded as the first ever animated film, Humorous Phases of Funny Faces. You can read about and download the film here:

I just watched Humorous Phases of Funny Faces,and it was beter than I expected it would be. Now I know where South African artist/animator William Kentridge got his inspiration.

I just watched Funny Faces, and considering it's age, it was extremely well done.

Here's to 100 more years of animation!

Hopefully things improve from the animation stage we're in now though....
