From the creator of Kirikou and the Sorceress: Azur and Asmar!

Okay, so me and Dudley are apparently the only members here to have seen Kirikou, but that doesn't stop it from rocking. After picking up celebrity fans ranging from Isao Takahata to the Planet Sick Boy guy, director Michel Ocelot went on to make Princes and Princesses (a compilation of short films he'd made earlier) and a sequel to Kirikou. But now he's moved on to an original project: Azur and Asmar!

    The plot synopsis from IMDB:

Azure is a blond boy with blue eyes, Asmar has dark hair and dark eyes. As kids, they fought and loved each other as brothers do. As grown ups, they mercilessly become rival in the quest for the djinn's fairy, in a medieval Maghreb, full of dangers, magic spells and wonders
I'll be watching this project closely. Veeery closely.

Wow, those are some artsy backgrounds.
The story is sort of expansive. Any idea howmany minutes this thing will run?

Dunno. Kirikou was 74 minutes, but the storyline was pretty slight.

On the subject of cool looking French cartoons, check this out!
