Lightest and darkest action series

What's your view on, tone-wise, what's the most lighthearted action series and what's the darkest?

NOTE: This does not include action-comedies like Totally Spies and Codename: Kids Next Door.

My two cents:

Light: G.I. Joe
Dark: Mobile Suit Gundam SEED, and Ghost in the Shell: SAC

I think of TMNT (2003) as a dark action series.

I can't think of any non-action-comedies that are light though...

All the light action shows are pretty much comedy focused, otherwise they wouldn't be light. There are shows like Code Lyoko featuring cute characters, but that gets pretty morbid at times.

Lightest would have to be Samurai Jack, but I dont know if that's what you'd consider an "action-comedy"
