I'd love to see a ride that involves riding a bullet through a mugger's chest become a reality.

What a shocker that Haley and Stan would be at odds with each other"Stannie Get Your Gun" Episode #114.
Haley and Stan finds themselves at odds over Stan's membership in the National Gun Association.
Cast: Seth MacFarlane, Wendy Schaal, Rachel MacFarlane, Scott Grimes, Dee Bradley Baker, Beau Bridges, Mike Barker, Jill Talley, John Carroll Lynch, Elias Koteas.![]()

Is there a reason that they can't say "National Rifle Association"? I notice that Family Guy also used "National Gun Assocation".
Sugar Mountain...good Neil Young reference right there. And I actually think Sideways was probably the best movie of 2004. (although Eternal Sunshine... and Napoleon Dynamite were good too)
Steve is adopted? Never thought of that, but maybe in the rest of the episode we might learn something more.

Hmm singing runs really good in the MacFarlane family
I'm not that trusting. I kept my finger on the trigger the whole time
because the NRA wouldn't give them permission to.

They would't need permission, it would be covered by the First Amendment. At most, they wouldn't be allowed to show the NRA's logo.Originally Posted by Cactusjack1999

There's got to be a way to get that I Want a Gun For Christmas online somehow.
Roger sure has a good habit for pulling pranks like that, I can only wonder what he would do with Haley. And I like the 'unrapeable' speech too.

In any case, they might've decided against using the NRA and associated paraphenalia simply to avoid potential headaches and nuisances that could come out of the NRA pitching a fit.
The FCC is a government agency, the NRA is a private organization. They tend to behave differently. Besides, government agences trying to suppress parodic use of their names and imagery would have some inconvenient orwellian overtones.Originally Posted by NickWiz

Maybe they're afraid of the NRA because they have guns.
It was a very good episode overall. And I'm REALLY glad the whole wheelchair thing didn't turn out to be a trick... that would've been predictable.

THIS MONTH'S UPDATE: Christmas Countdown! 25 Christmas songs of interest.
Not one of their best episodes, but very funny. Steve questioning being adopted and kissing Hayley. Klaus' jab at Sideways. Francine being upset that she wasn't going to be molested. Stan with his tricked out wheelchair. Once again it was an improvement on everything from development to editing compared to tonight's FG.
But they used Charlton Heston in an older episode of FG and use the NRA properganda. So why would it be bad to do that now?Originally Posted by Delthayre

Legal situations change. Perhaps it was feared that a sustained and incisive pardoy that has recurred over several episodes like this rather than a brief, one-off affair would be more likely to cause a legal cock-up.Originally Posted by Nin-Nin69

So is stan gonna remain paralyzed for the duration of the series or are they just gonna forget about it next week?

Well, at the end he was improbably cured by a second bullet dislodging the first.Originally Posted by Cactusjack1999
I'll grant that that doesn't really make sense, but at least they put some closure on it rather than just pressing the reset button behind the scenes. Not that the series would've benefited from a crippled male lead.

I laugh so hard on that part, indeed it was a good episode.
This episode of American Dad was very good! It also gives Hayley her best role yet! She was great in this episode! The ending was a little predictable though even though Stan didn't learn his lesson at the end.
4.5/5 Great episode of AD.![]()
Far and away, the bright spot in tonight's Fox line-up. A great main plot, a great subplot, even a bit of curiosity throughout wondering if Stan being paralyzed would be a big change for the rest of the series.
Best jokes:
-The Sideways jab
-The bullet ride
-Steve actually liking the massive prank that Roger pulled on him, plus a recall to the beginning when Haley sits in Roger's chair
-"Oh sorry, these are just my X-Ray sized vacation photos!"
-The gun and spice cabinet
-Francine being adamant that the "burglar" was going to rape her
-Stan's constant statements about guns that are the exact opposite of what you think he's going to say
-"I Want a Gun For Christmas" song
Solid episode. It gets an "A".
An almost perfect episode, if it weren't for the stupid ending.![]()
EDIT: Loved the B-Plot WAY MORE than the A-Plot.
