    TZ Awards 2005: Suggestion Topic

    Like This Thread!
After a successful show last year, I'll be hosting another ceremony this year. Where we, the members of Toon Zone, choose the best in the field of animation from 2005.

THIS IS NOT A SUBMISSION THREAD.

This thread is to make any possible suggestions for this year. Should we add new awards? What categories should be split in TV and theatrical subcategories? Should we just give "best" awards or "worst" awards too? Should we consider webtoons too?

I'm open to all suggestions before the nomination phase begins next month.

    I say Best and Worst.

There should also be a "Laughably Bad" category =D

I say we divide the "Best cartoon category" with action and comedy. Because they're being judged on two diffrent things. We should also divide the "best new series" into action and comedy as well.

As I said last year comparing a T.V movie with a feature film is quite unfair. We should have seperate categories for each. For example...

    Best T.V movie/special.
    Kim Possible: So the Drama.
    Danny Phantom: The Ultimate Enemy.
My Life as a Teenage Robot: Escape from Cluster Prime.
    Danny Phantom: Reign Storm.
Jimmy Neutron: The Leauge of villans.
    The Proud Family movie.

    Best animated feature.
    Robots.
    Chicken Little.
Corpse Bride (if we can count that?)

    Or something like that.

    More technical categories to add.

    Best charecter design.
Best overseas animation studio (let me clarify that I'm talking about the production of western shows, subcontracting if you will).
    Best network/channel.
    Best Writer.
    Best Storyboard artist.
Best Director (and so on for as many positions as we want)

    Just my suggestion.
    Question the Answers.

When I first clicked, I thought this was the "TZ Member Awards" from the Cafe moving forward.

Will that ever go anywhere, or is it just nomination-only for fun?

I love some of the suggestions above, but I'm going to suggest one more. 'Most Underrated Cartoon.' Basically, shows that are good yet seem to only attract mild or cult-like interest.

(Examples of such, if they were animated, would be Fox's 'Arrested Development' or UPN's 'Veronica Mars.')

Just for kicks, I think we should have some kind of "general" category. The top 10 cartoons from all the category >=D
The Daily Express is a conservative, British tabloid newspaper. It is a middle-market title, the flagship title of Express Newspapers and is currently owned by Richard Desmond. As of December 2008, it has a circulation of 728,296.

Will the show be on one of the upcoming Podcast episodes by the way?
Oh, and my suggestions would be:
    Best Classically animated series
    Best Modern animated series
    Best pre-80's Hanna-Barbara show

I'm sure I can think of more later.

To avoid hurting anyone's feelings if they're favorite cartoons end up on the "worst list", I don't think we should have that category. Or like Juu-Kuchi suggested, a Biggest Dissapointment category, that way's it's politically correct.

That's a real good idea, I already know what I'd pick.

Sorry, but this is TZ Awards 2005, we're not awarding anything that aired before that.
