What will they do for homework? Watch TV? TV's longest running family still on the air, the Simpsons, will be the subject for a new class at Michigan's Siena Heights University this fall, according to the AP.
The class, "Animated Philosophy and Religion," will study how FOX's "The Simpsons" is part of popular culture. Readings will include "The Simpsons and Philosophy: The D'Oh! Of Homer" by William Irwin and "The Gospel According to The Simpsons: The Spiritual Life of the Most Animated Family."
For the past 12 years, "The Simpsons" has made audiences laugh by poking fun at American culture and religious subjects.
what? no studies on how to operate a nuclear power plant?? i see alot of new faces this new, but you know what they say: 'out with the old and in with the nucleous'. hahahahahahaha.

Maybe next a "Daria" studies branch....?
I was just going to post this.
I'm sure Matt Groening is just stunned that someone would actually do this...
You read it... you can't un-read it!
Speaking as a college student, that would be SO cool!! I just finished a Philosophy class this semester come to think of it. But anyway, sign me up!! I'd SO get an A, hands down. That's like devising a college course out of these boards and their topics! I'd rock the casbah as far as grades!

I heard on the radio once that there was a Barrymore 101 course in the state where Drew Barrymore grew up, and for your major project, you had to act out a scene from one of her movies.
Once again, I gotta say I love Nightwing's avatar.
