I've only seen THE SECRET OF NIMH and ANASTASIA, but NIMH is my favorite. (I didn't like that ANASTASIA was a musical.) But I used to watch NIMH all the time when I was little, even though some parts creeped me out. Looking at it nowadays, it's pretty dark for a kid's movie.

THe Secret of NIMH was his first film? Well, ya learn something new everyday...

I would have to pick Rock-a-Doodle. It's a childhood favorite.
Feivel Goes West would come in 2nd place.

Yup. I was thinking it was his second for some reason, but according to IMDB, it was his first, following two half-hour shorts.

NIMH and Rock-A-Doodle. The other ones....eh......maybe I enjoyed them when I was younger, but now if I watch them again, they seem kinda a bit too childish for my tastes.

I didn't know "Anastasia" was a Don Bluth film. I thought it was made by the short-lived theatrical animation division of 20th Century FOX.

I was never a huge fan of Bluth's work, especially since he became less and less involved in the movies as they went on (wasn't "The Pebble and the Penguin" released without his name even attached to it?). Even as a kid, I found movies like "All Dogs Go to Heaven" and "Rock-A-Doodle" kind of depressing. But I will admit, his studio had some excellent quality animation.

Anastasia was directed by Don Bluth, but it was released through 20th Century Fox. In fact Anastasia did so well, that FOX tried to create their own animation movie studio, but they closed it down after the bombing of Don Bluth's next film "Titan A.E." Unfortunately, I've never seen that movie, so I don't know if it was good or bad.

NIMH is a great movie and American Tail is VERY touching. Rock-A-Doole Doo...dang...but my all time fave would probably have to be Land Before Time tied with Anastastia. The latter is just visually beautiful.

It's a toss-up between NIMH and American Tail... I'll probably go with American Tail. It's so adventurous, beautiful, and effective. There's so much amazing scenery in it, and amazing music (although NIMH certainly doesn't lack in that department), and the reunion at the end is really just so moving, even though it's easy to predict that it'll happen.

I prefered the first two American Tails (Both The Original and "Fievel goes West")

I also really liked his short animated Clip during the run of the Movie Xanadu (Yes Don did the Animated Sequence in that film.)

All the Don Bluth films are good, but I've always loved "All Dogs Go to Heaven" the most.

I liked that movie too. Thought "Little Shop of Horrors" Ellen Greene was terrific in it.

The main problem with Don Bluth, is probably the fact that guy's movies are DARK AS HELL.

Seriously, every movie this guy has made has been dark, depressing, and macabre. Even Rock-A-Doodle was a dark film, the fact that everyone except for the main characters turned out to be evil and out to get everyone. The problem is in all of his films, is that everyone is out to get the main character. That's probably one of the reasons Disney dropped him
