I saw that Super Globe Trotters show 4 years ago. It was part of this segment that CN UK used to air called "Look What We Found",which was made up of stuff like The Gary Coleman Show and other old shows.
We always talk about out favorite cartoons on these boards, but what about the bottom ten you'd rather have your eyes gouged out than to see again?
Here is my list:
The Gary Coleman Show. As much as I liked the idea he was DEAD, seeing him fly around as an angel and that series was entirely too painful.
Gilligan's Planet. If only the Harlem Globetrotters had built a space ship also to add a touch of class to this show.
Mr T. This one lasted three seasons. THREE SEASONS. God, in heaven, what was going on in the 80's????
Rubik the Amazing Cube. I guess I can't get all negative about this one. It holds a place in history of being perhaps the only animated series based on a PUZZLE. Oh, yeah, whenever I was trying to get that friggin thing to have one side at least one color, I was thinking, Man I would love to see this toy come alive as a CARTOON!
David the Gnome. This list was supposed to be five when I started out then I remembered this one and had to extend it. A gnome named David voiced by Tom Bosley (Wait Til Your Father Gets Home fame, of course). What better combination could you ask for?
A Pup Named Scooby. As if Scrappy wasn't enough torment!
My Pet Monster. I have to pet your
WHAT?????
Super Globetrotters. The first series was so great, why not do a spin off? Surely, this will be just as good! I will just post the picture and let you make your own caption.

Blackstar. I hated this show as a kid but watched it every week. I was WEAK, I tell you, weak! This show ripped off every sci fi convention you could think of. Possibly the worst sci fi animated series ever.
Hulk Hogan's Rock and Roll Wrestling! All I can hope for now that current govenor of Minnesota Jesse Vetura gets his own animated series.

Calhoun07, you'd list "a pup named scooby doo" under the worst cartoons ever! what! i loved that show. it was so funny and actually gave personality to freddy, daphnie, and velma (although velma had some personality in the old show). I dont know if i can handle all this, first all the dissatisfaction with tnba and now i find out a pup named scooby doo isnt liked by all.
but anyway i can list some bad cartoons, cause theres lots...
first SHEEP IN THE BIG CITY. my god this show sucks. i watched it a few times and am just embarassed for it. it is so corney and the jokes are so horrible. ya this is a terrible show. it trys WAY too hard.
hmm, you know what, i cant think of any others. i guess i like cartoons more than i thought. peace.
Hey, now, some people actually LIKE "My pet monster" (Okay, I don't...)
Here's one for the list. "Yvon of the Yukon". Has anyone seen this? I think it's Canadian, and shown only on YTV. It's HORRIBLE! It relies only on ugly-bum-picking-nose-farting-sniffing-poo-and-other-various-bodily-fluids jokes. It's about this butt-ugly French dude running around in his underwear, and the animation is just hideous!

You leave sheep alone you heratic or I shall use YOU for my ray gunj/k
Seriously if I had to pick a few.
Generation O: Yet for some reason I can identify with it (scared.)
Digimon: I don't know about the foreign version but Fox's=yuck!!!
Prostars: Heh, heh
Captian planet: The only cartoon that made me want to hurt the Earth, and I feel sorry for that 5th kid...Heart!?!? what the...!?!?
Can I count Quest for Camelot? Bad...horrible...harmful to the brain.
Most of the Oh Yeah cartoons, and WAC shows (of coarse the ones that where good where brilliant.)
There have been alot of bad ones maybe I'll think of some later.
BTW I think it was Yoink of the Yucon (I liked it personally)
You mean the original? Infinitely better. First off, dialogue is not crammed into every possible moment. Second, a # of eps have been rewritten for US audiences by one of the VAs. Which is why you have one character talking about wetting himself, dialogue that doesn't fit the animation or changes the story altogether, and jokes that aren't funny...Digimon: I don't know about the foreign version but Fox's=yuck!!!
And like every other anime, the original theme songs are never as hard-edged as their dub counterparts... And different songs are used for various types of evolution(there's no fancy "digi" word in the original), rather than the theme song being lifted yet again.
Fox and Saban can at least take pride in not being the ones responsible for that crappy future scene, though.
So, where can one find the original versions of animie that is edited and sanitized for Saturday morning in America? I would be inclined to watch Sailor Moon, but if I could find the original versions from Japan and with English dubs, or at least English subtitles.
*thinks Calhoun's spelling "anime" as "animie" is cute*
Aninimie? Lol.![]()

Suncoast and Borders are good starting points. Comic stores too. Video game speciality stores, particularly for fansubs.Originally posted by calhoun07

I've come across official Sailor Moon subs/dubs/editted dubs on VHS(have 2 actually). DVDs have all three I think. CCS has subbed unedited DVDs and VHS. Gundam DVDs have sub and dub options. Some DB stuff is subbed on DVD, but for the whole trilogy one has to rely on fansubs. I have fanubs of the first 15 eps of Dragonball and I'm positive that the funny stuff is all editting room fodder for the dubbers. Panties, boobs, peeing, perverts, flashing, Goku's overnaivete... As for the likes of Pokemon and Digimon... very little in the fansub or official department... Which is not to say that I can't get them. In fact, I'm heading over to get 4 eps more of each tomorrow. Problem for some is that they're not subtitled. But particularly in Digimon's case, it's a vast improvement. Except for the 2nd season finale. That was just wrong.
Now, I haven't seen every cartoon ever made, but I can certainly attest that these four cartoons are the worst that I'VE ever seen:
THE SYLVESTER AND TWEETY MYSTERIES - One can just imagine the pitch session for this: "We've had lots of luck making new shows with new characters, so let's try a new show with classic characters." "But who can we get?" "I know; the cat and the bird! The cat's still chasing the bird, but this time, instead of just beating him up, let's really humiliate him, make him obsessive, dress him in drag, the whole nine." "And we can get the bulldog that was in a few cartoons with him for more torture." "And we can get that old lady as their owner." "I've got a great idea: let's combine it with 'Murder, She Wrote' all around the world. It's perfect!" Try not to be too angry with this last statement, but I think that Friz Freleng (Heaven rest his soul) passed on just in time. If he saw what they did to his characters (I know that Bob Clampett created Tweety, but you know what I mean), the shock would've killed him.
CATDOG - Never mind the premise (smart cat and stupid dog joined - literally - at the hip). It's what they do to Cat. Tune in to just about any episode; they treat the guy like absolute crap. (In case you haven't figured it out already, I like cats.) And Dog, character-wise, is a total waste of ink. Take Stimpy, multiply him by Homer Simpson, throw in a bit of Junyer Bear, subtract any humor and you're almost there. Though the theme song (written and sung by series creator Peter Hannan) kicks.
HISTERIA - Long ago, Tom Ruegger had an idea for a great show: a group of zany characters whose purpose was to entertain, and sometimes educate, its audience. That show is called...wait for it...ANIMANIACS. Unfortunately, Ruegger and company failed to catch lightning in a bottle a second time for this wrong-headed effort. Obviously-talented writers and a terrific voice cast were wasted on asinine situations and some of the most unlikable, ignorant characters in animation history. You got one girl who screams at the end of every sentence. Then you have this one kid who ALWAYS TALKS REALLY LOUD LIKE THIS!! Then you've got another guy who apparently learned to talk listening to Ed McMahon on "The Tonight Show"...and only Ed. And then there's this baby who exists primarily to prove just how unfunny and idiotic fart jokes can be. And don't even get me started on the characters meeting historical figures, and said historical figures transported to the future having to suffer the torment of their inventions. Oh, and the celebrity impersonations; I've nothing against the celebrities, but John McLaughlin as Confucius?! Frank Sinatra as Julius Caesar? When making a show that aims as high as this, it's not a bad idea to be consistenly funny.
SABRINA: THE ANIMATED SERIES - Where to begin? The completely moronic plotlines? The total lobotomizing of Harvey from the live-action show? Dragging through the mud the fine name of Savage Steve Holland? (Rent "Better Off Dead" with John Cusack. You'll thank me for it.) The placement of the absolutely charmless, not to mention grating Emily Hart in the title role? Whatever the reason, it's a dud.
Pretty easy. Any comic store or a few Suncoasts may have them. They'd say "Uncut version" and if you look around, it's be either dub or sub. I presume the DVDs have both subs and dubs on them. They should have subs at the very least.Originally posted by calhoun07

Sailor Moon's pretty good in the original; certainly one of my guilty pleasures. The melodrama is usually played out better.
The monster shows don't have uncut releases, AFAIK.
I saw a number of Pocket Monsters fansubs at a comic convention about 2/3 months back. Didn't get any since I have about 75% of the series on VHS and had just spent $ on the epilepsy episodeOriginally posted by Leap Larry Jojo
The monster shows don't have uncut releases, AFAIK.which was untranslated, just like the rest of my PokeLibrary. Fansubbed versions of the first two movies, and the first two movie shorts (each with an tv episode) videos are circulating as well.
Heard CCS movie 1's subbed on Japanese DVD but I'm likely not to bother. I have both CCs movies on VHS already.![]()
I've been watching tv toons practically from the beginning, so I can recall so many stinkers!
I truly, truly hated (and continue to hate) an annoying HB duck named Quacky Doodle. He always spoke like he had a nose full of snot and said sickeningly sweet things like , "awww, nobody loves a poor, little fuzzy ducky." I've always wanted to roast him on a spit!
Truth is, I have pimple raising memories of much of HB's creations: Squidly Diddly, Frankenstein Jr., Magilla Gorilla. All so terrible and stupid!! Penelope Pitstop--arghh! All shows with the snickering dog Muttly.
The Impossibles and all other awful attempts at funny super hero shows.
The Ghostbusters--no, not the REAL Ghostbusters--the one with the ape. Barf.
The Sonic cartoon that ran weekdays. What a piece of poorly animated and written crap! Why??!!
That's a few from the Hall of Heck! There are plenty more where they came from!!
haProstars: Heh, hehno way! this show is so funny. i always split my sides every time i watch itSHEEP IN THE BIG CITY. my god this show sucks. i watched it a few times and am just embarassed for it. it is so corney and the jokes are so horrible. ya this is a terrible show. it trys WAY too hard.
"Remembering’s dangerous" - the Joker
I know what you are talking about. I equally loathe Woody Woodpecker. That annoying bird filled me with such hatred when I was a kid (I am sure that's what they wanted in the demographic!). He would deliberately do things that were WRONG and just for the sake of being annoying then we were supposed to root for him as he got away from the people he made angry? I wanted to see him killed in each episode. (I know, you're probably wondering why I watched it then. Woody Woodpecker was usually only a short lasting for a couple minutes out of an entire show of other cartoons, and in my day, living in the country, there weren't 80 other channels on cable to choose from. There were about four or five channels we could get in, and that was it!)Originally posted by Crazy8s

How could I have forgotten these.
Birdman. Garbage, utter garbage, I didn't even like it as a kid.
The Sonic Cartoon (Weekday, the SAtAm one was cool) and the Mario cartoon (which I use to watch.)
Two stupid Dogs: A show has never been more appropriately named.
Yea, yea, I'm sure we're all whippersnappers to you ;P j/kOriginally posted by calhoun07

Seriously though, I HATE Woody Woodpecker as well. While I might have nothing against things like Silvester and Tweety, or Roadrunner and Coyote, those birds, at least, are avoiding getting eaten....in a very smarmy way, but never mind that. Woody is just...annoying. Smart-ass. Malicious. And his laugh, GWAH!
Crazy8, which Sonic cartoon are you talking about? There were several. There's Sonic Underground (Which sucks), the one focusing on Sonic and Tails (Which also sucked), and there was one where they were freedom fighters, and there was this Princess Sally girl. I liked that one.
I don't really care for Digimon. It's okay. The background kinda looks like an anime artist puked all over it sometimes though. Their arc transitions are really awkward. "Yay, we beat the ultimate evil- WHAT? There's ANOTHER ultimate evil?" But that's just my observations of the first season, I don't know what the others are like.

Insert the song "Old Man's Moldy Memories" from the You Don't Know Jack Head Rush game here. heee heeeeee...just kidding! I ain't much older than the lot of ya! Just didn't get no cable deep in the country in Minnesota, and only had one of those archaic atennaes on top of the house. If it pointed north, we got in EVERYTHING, but as soon as a hard winter northern wind would come in, it would turn south and we would only get in four channels or so. Very annoying!Originally posted by Nightflower

Taito. Kensuke. Leekato. These are just a few of the special little things that make Digimon worth watching. And Mimi (except when she's done some weird hair **** like pink dye or an orange 'fro)reminds me of my current crush.I don't really care for Digimon. It's okay. The syndicated episodes were the stinkers (and Sonic Underground as well--why didn't they just begin where the first Satam Sonic ended, with Snively taking over?). The Satam Sonic with the freedom fighters was really a good show that could appeal to many levels of viewers. I was ticked when they ended it on a cliffhanger! Who was that figure in the shadows? And Snively would have made a terror of a bad guy! So much built up rage!
Oh, and yes, Two Stupid Dogs was stupid--ugh! I also dislike ugly cartoons like Cow and Chicken, and personally, I couldn't stand Road Runner either. How I wanted to see him steaming on a plate with veggies! Annoying bird characters! Cook em all and let God sort em out!
