It was a crime when they replaced that song with the 'Ready to Party' theme.
...you'll be thanking me afterward. I figure I'm one of the only ones who memorized all the lyrics as a kid, and know them to this day.
Friends are there...
To help you get started,
To give you a push on your way!
Friends are there...
To turn you around,
Get your feet on the ground for a BRAND NEW DAY!
To pick you up when you're down! BOOM! BOOM!
To help you swallow your pride,
With nothing inside,
Help you break on through to the OTHER SIIIIIIIDE!
Friends are someone you can open up to,
when ya FEEL LIKE YOU'RE READY TO FLIP!
When you've got...the world on your shoulders,
Friends are there to GIVE YOU A TIP!
Friends are there when you need them;
"They're even there when you don't,"
For a walk in the park,
Or a shot in the dark,
Friends are there....
"I don't care..."
But friends will care...for yoooooooooooOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
It was a crime when they replaced that song with the 'Ready to Party' theme.
"He lived hard and died stupid."
That's Garfield and Friends! But I do think it was shorter than that. Like after "to give you a push on your way" it went straight to "when you've got the world on your shoulders."
You're not the only one who memorized cartoon theme lyrics as a kid! Give me another one.
Serpentor: Do as you're told like an obedient lacky.
Cobra Commander: Lacky?!
The "Garfield and Friends" videos that can be bought overseas have that theme song as the main opening.
And thanks for finding that, I'm making a list of cartoon theme songs, and I was looking for those lyrics.![]()

Kassandra: Goddess of Awesome
I remember that. Instead of the standard "We're ready to party!" opening nowadays with just scenes from the show, it was just Garfield trying to hog the spotlight from the US Acres group as they went through the song. I think that variation also used the title of "Orson's Farm" instead of the now-used "US Acres" for that segment of the show.
Wow, I didn't know there was an original theme song for that show.
I'd be surprised if I could remember the lyrics for that for so long. The only theme song lyrics from then that I still remember is the Transformers theme. (well, it's only got three lines)
Be sure to catch 24 every Monday at 9pm Eastern on Fox (and 10pm Eastern on Global). Watch it, because you know you're brighter than Michael Irvin.
I liked the second theme better. The lyrics fit the humor style of the show much better.
"You have the right to remain silent. But then again, you have the right to spill your guts and really blow it for yourself!"- Goofy, after arresting Pete and Peg
"Orson's Farm" was what "US Acres" was called in other countries, to localize the cartoon and change the obvious "USA" in the name.
I remember the theme, all right, but I've forgotten most of the lyrics. By far, the best of the three theme songs used for the show... I really don't understand why they couldn't use this theme for syndication, at least for the shows that originally aired with this theme.
Never heard this variation. MP3, please?...
