Transformers Armada not part of G1 continuity?

Not the in-continuity offering that Beast Wars and Beast Machines were nor a Generation 1 follow-up like the short-lived Robots in Disguise, Transformers Armada is actually an alternate universe where situations and characters seem familiar but aren't. Telling the story of a Cybertron where Autobots and Decepticons battle for control over a third faction of robots known as Mini-Cons, Armada's attempt at introducing a new generation of followers to American Diaclones is doing extremely well -- even if fans of the original aren't entirely sure what to make of it.
IF that's true, I'll definitely be relieved. I found it when looking at the new game for the Ps2. I doubt they would say something wrong, although that could've happened. I'd like to believe this to be true. What does everyone else think?

It's true. That's why we compare them to G1.

LOL. I was one of those confused.. I wasn't technically sure when watching TFA, but it made so much sense after reading this that I just had to see if my feeling was right. All I can say is good. Nothing like the original.

For some reason the kids and the mini-cons just never felt right for me. They just seemed not needed for a TF show. Even though at first I didn't like Beast Wars cuz the Trasformers transformed into animals, I ended up liking it as a story and how they used the characters. I don't think I ended up seeing all the episodes. At least Armada has a pretty cool looking game coming out. Does anyone know how many episodes Beast Machines was? I don't remember seeing too many.

Not near as much as G1 so you should get over that. sheesh.

Lets see G1 had dunno how many eps all together but japanese only shows don't count sooo, and G1 doesn't really matter anyway.

Beast Wars was like 30 something if i remember right.

    Beast Machines was 26.

RiD was uhhhhhhhhh ahhh umm don't remember.

Armada 52 and Energon is 52 or atleast i think they said it was gonna be.

Beast Wars had 52 episodes over three seasons.

Beast Machines had 26 episodes over two seasons. (Except in Canada, where they played them all at once.)

Armada and Energon are 52 episodes each, and they both take place in an ALTERNATE universe from G1 and Beast Wars/Machines/RID.

I personally thoroughly enjoyed Armada and Beast Machines. I have a feeling that I would have enjoyed G1 if I caught it when it was new, but looking back and it just doesn't seem... as fun.

I own most of the G1 Dvd's that have come out and yeah it's a little tough to watch them in one sitting but it's more because of it being a tad dated. The quality of the video isn't the best and it probably is more of a nostalgic viewer driven series, but that movie.. TF the movie can get you pumped to watch G1 anytime. I love seeing Devastator, Shockwave, the insecticons, constructicons, WheelJack, Iron Hide, Bumblebee, Spike, etc. Even after seeing the new series that come out I always go back to what caused these new series to even get a chance to be made. And most of the time I prefer the G1 designs than those of the newer series. The one toy I have out on my desk(right next to my Darth Maul statue), that'll probably never move is a G1 Optimus Prime figure I got back when I was little.

I've heard the basics of how the Beast shows fit into the G1 continuity, but how does Robots in Disguise? (I've never seen the series)

    So basically we have:

Earth X (just making up names here): Armada/Energon

    Earth Y: G1/Beast shows/Robots in Disguise

Earth Y2, Y3, etc...: Japanese offshoots of G1 and the Beast shows.

Robots in Disguise was supposed to be a parody originally. (Car Robots) It takes place in its own timeline.

Robots in Disguise was an alternate universe.

And there are four animated continuities:

    1. American G1 cartoon/movie (including Rebirth), Beast Wars (debatably including the Japanese Beast Wars series, since they are referenced in the American series), Beast Machines

    2. American G1 (minus Rebirth), Japanese G1 (including the TV magazine stuff that wasn't animated; Beast Wars wouldn't fit into Japanese continuity without Battlestars), Beast Wars (including the Japanese series, of course)

    3. Robots in Disguise

    4. Armada, Energon
