"Hot Wheels World Race" Episode 4 - Talkback (Spoilers)

    Like This Thread!
Surf's up! Originally an OVA series, "Hot Wheels World Race" continues to make its lap around Toonami today. This is the official talkback thread for Episode 4 which debuts on Toonami October 24th at 6.5 PM (5.5 Central). This episode was part of a full hour presentation on video and on it's Cartoon Network run. This will be the first time it has been broken in two. Prepare to accelerate and comment on this episode!

Last week, uh, I really don't remember much except for the dinosaur thing, but I remember it actually being fairly fun. Check your brain at the car door and enjoy the ride. Currently... Only Toonami.

Spoilers: If the episode has already aired on Toonami you do not need to worry about using spoiler tags. If you must comment on episodes that have not yet aired on Toonami you will need to use spoiler tags due to the number of people who have not seen the rest of the series. Thank you.

I just noticed, the "World Race" part of the Toonami logo was in regular text, not Neo Gothic.

    Yay! Cheesy taglines!

BTW, what ever happened to the main character's dad? And where has blondie been staying after each leg?

    Stupid parachute...

I know it's Hot Wheels, but come on. Flying cars? It was cheesy enough on VR Troopers.

Isn't the big thing about land mines the fact that you can't see them in the ground?

    Marky es baka.

I can't believe he escaped all those land mines.

That's not a maze, it's just a path with lots of turns...

I guess the mystery lady never heard of clones...

Why do they have their headlights on? It's broad daylight!

Uh, Marky, you're not that good a driver...

Y'know, the military could use those cars and their materials...

Hehe, the city of 500 Hot Wheels track sets.

What can I say, I'm as much a fan of action direction as I am of epics.

Mainframe Entertainment did the greatest job one could ask for in a cartoon about Hot Wheels. The cars are fast, furious, do stunts and the action is paced and directed in the best way possible. If it were a video game the track designs would get high praise.

The show does everything that the toys do, but gives it a Days of Thunder/2Fast 2Furious roaring engine, nitro boosting world to play it in.

    I liked todays episode.

Only thing I don't like about the show is Burt's name and car design. Everyone else has kickass cars and he gets a friggin ugly low rider truck to drive. There's no upside to the fact taht everyone else has awesome race cars and the main character gets and ugly truck.

I look forward to the end.

This Excelleron City looks like Mainframe.

I totally agree, that's what I thought the first time I saw it.

Kurt Wild's car kicksass. I'm talking about blondie in the ugly truck.

It's not epic in grand story telling like Zoids, but for a cartoon about race car driving it beats the hell outta NASCAR Drivers with their wack VR chambers n' crap. And for it being about Hot Wheels, which for as long as it's been around I guess is pretty overdue for a cartoon, this is the best you could possibly get.

    Two thumbs up.

The ending theme is cool too. "Hot Hot, Hot HOT!" I turn it up whenever it's on.

Yea. I love Smash Mouth. My 3rd favorite American band behind Bon Jovi and Barenaked Ladies. Of course, I haven't listened to much new American music lately since I don't listen to the radio or MTV/VH1/MTV2.

MTV has devolved into Collegiate Reality Central, while VH1 has evolved into Pop-Culture Channel.

It's no Zoids, but I have to admit this series is growing on me with each episode. The action is pretty good.

Are you implying that the Barenaked Ladies are American??

They're from Scarborough [Suburb of Toronto], Ontario, Canada.

Canada is part of North AMERICA. Thus, they're American.

This board is not a place for personal attacks. The guy made a mistake. If you are such a big fan of the band, how about educating people about Barenaked Ladies instead of belittling them?
