    Kenshin

    Like This Thread!
    So, hi...
I've been watching Kenshin for awhile now. I've known about the cartoon but had never actually seen it until it came on toonami. It definately keeps me interested.
I read one of the other messages about this show and everyone seems upset that it's not on during the week anymore. It kinda bothered me also at first but not anymore. I'm not always home when it comes on and I'm sure everyone knows what happens when you miss an episode of a show that's not showing reruns...You miss one and you sometimes have no idea what's going on in the next episodes. Well anyway, what I was getting at is...even though it's not always the greatest waiting for a week to see the next show it's easier to be home on a weekend saturaday, then earlier every day of the week.
Anyway, I think...no offense or anything... but people should start talking more about the show and less about when it's on.
So if anyone has anything interesting to say about the show or anything else...go for it!

Well, that's the thing. Thanks to the way the board is set up, we CAN'T talk about Kenshin's new episodes on this board.

Believe me, I'd love to have a Kenshin SVES Talkback on this board, but... technically SVES ain't Toonami (Although it has many former Toonami shows [Matt, to me it IS Toonami Lite]), and I don't think Jeff, the man who's site is the reason Toon Zone has a Toonami board, is really up for including SVES on it.

I'd love it, but I'm not the one to make decisions here.

It's set up like that mostly because they didn't want people to talk about Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh! here (according to them, it will lead to flame wars).

I'm back, momentarily, to throw my two cents in.

Kenshin is still a Toonami show and a fairly prominent Toonami show at that. While the talkbacks for specific episodes may now be on the Cartoon Network board, I don't have any problems with people still generally discussing the show here, even if that includes the new episodes.

Also, maybe something can be done about getting Kenshin talkbacks over here. If both the DC and CN boards can have Teen Titans Talkbacks maybe both the CN and Toonami boards can have Kenshin talkbacks. This definitely would not apply to all SVES shows, there are those that haven't been on official Toonami (Pokemon, etc.) and the number is growing (Hot Wheels, Knights of the Zodiac, etc.). Plus, other shows like Transformers Armada, while originally on Toonami, haven't been linked to the block in quite awhile. Kenshin however still has a lot of Toonami ties. The new Toonami intro includes Kenshin clips in the background, Kenshin is still included in Williams St.'s Toonami promotionals stuff and the show has the distinction of being one that Williams St. has wanted for Toonami for four years. It's not up to me alone, but I think a good case can be made for Kenshin being a SVES show and a Toonami show and thus talkbacks also on the Toonami board.

As for SVES vs. Toonami, I see it as Toonami lite also, but that is why I kind of don't want SVES included in the Toonami board. SVES and Toonami are not one in the same, but I think sometimes SVES shows can still be Toonami shows.

huh, I didn't know we weren't supposed to talk about shows no longer on toonami. Guess I figured we could cause it's still on the website...etc. From the recent reply from Mr. William it looks like we are allowed to talk about new episodes...etc! So write!

Well, no, discussions about shows that have aired on Toonami is fine. It's just what HASN'T aired on Toonami falls under questionable ground.

The first season Kenshin, that's fine. It aired on Toonami. The new episodes haven't though.

Evangelion's first two episodes, cool. Death and Rebirth, that's stretching it.

Batman. While some would put it on the DC board, I think it'd be fine here too. Mystery of the Batwoman? Maybe.

I'm sorry... but telling us to "write" ain't the best way to introduce yourself.

You can talk about anything Toonami related on this board, whether it is currently on Toonami or not. It's just that certain official threads (such as talkbacks) sometimes belong on only certain boards.

The only other exception I can think of off hand is that the now defunct Kids WB Toonami is not considered part of Toonami for this board.

Now, personally... I feel that anything that has a Toonami connection is fine here. Pokémon for it's KWB-ness (Although, I doubt people WOULD talk about it) would be fine, next to any of the Special Guest Star shows, along with stuff headed/rumored for the block, alongside the natural DBZ and pure Toonami shows.

    hey there

This is only the second time I've really used one of these message boards. So, even though it's probably obvious and I'll most likely figure out what it is after I've posted this message...what is a "talk back"?
Oh, and sorry if I sounded rude or anything by saying to "write". It wasn't a command or anything, I just thought it would be an ok way to say anyone can feel free to type back anything.

I don't have a VCR right now and don't have the $60 to spend on getting one. As much as I'd like to. Oh, and that reply wasn't meant to be quoted in a smart alec kinda way. Just stating my current situation.

Eh, it's cool... we're bound to have newbies once in a while.

The Talkback Threads are the board's official discussion area for an episode or week of episodes. For example, all Cyborg 009 discussions for this week go into the Cyborg 009 Week Five Talkback. It merely is just a way to keep the board nice and tidy.

We're working on a FAQ... or sorta reworking on a FAQ. Man, Jeff needs to show up at his board more...

There is one board that doesn't use talkbacks though... Adult Swim (because they say "Talkback" sounds lame, so instead they use C&C).

What does "C&C" stand for anyway? "Come and Chat"?

Kenshin is probably one of the greatest shows to air on Toonami within the past couple of years. While it does have heavy content edits, for once the story still gets through with them...

There is a Kyoto box set coming out this fall or winter.

I wasn't trying to make it sound like a smart alec response, that's just how it may have sounded.......sorry if you thought so, but it was not my intentions.

You gotta draw the line somewhere though. Shall we have threads on Big O here in the Toonami forum because Big O was on Toonami way back when? Isn't it simpler just to say it's an Adult Swim show now?

Kenshin's not a Toonami show, it's a former Toonami show. Former Toonami shows that aren't on anymore, fine, talk about them here for want of a better place. Kenshin is a SVES show now, the SVES board is a better place. The thread for the one episode of Kenshin a week stays stickied all week, discussion in it is welcome.

SVES is a throw-together block that doesn't even capture enough interest to have its own forum. Adult Swim is a totally different matter.

    I understand what you're saying.
I started this thread about kenshin thinking it was ok cause it used to be on toonami, not knowing all the rules about this forum. It's good that I know them now. I had questions about all of them and I think they've been answered. But if there's anything that anyone else has to say about well, anything ...no problem
