Gundam VS Transformers

I was skimming through the new issue of Wizard, which I bought for the Spidey Movie News, and I saw an advertisement for their next Toyfare issue. On the advertsiement it had something along the lines of Gundam VS Transformers!

I wonder, who do you think would win in a knock down knuckle fight between the Gundam robots and the original Transformers?

By original I mean Optimus Prime, etc...

ahhh..two of my most absolute favorites...

Welp, Gundam, better story & characterization.
Transformers, the campiness is half the fun.

Hmm...in a fight(les say...The Wing unit? v. Optimus), I'd say Optimus would win. Sure, Wing has air & land abilities. That's a step up. And its weapon systems are very "capable"..But, Gundam exists in a "real world". They are piloted by real people, each with their own problem. In the end, I'd say the victory would be based on who the pilot is...But, Optimus , he's an actual thinking being..so, his standards are always on the "up n' up". Not to mention a fine arsenal(a gun, & a trailor that turns into a weapon base! ooooo...). Mentally, I think Optimus & his autobots have a better chance at staying awake. The Gundams..it mostly depends on who's piloting.

Overall...Gundams seem to blow up easily. Or..all mobile suits for that matter. Transformers...as long as you're a good guy, it's unlikely you're going to die. so...Transformers.

One on one, Gundams would have an advantage. Swarms of Transformers would overwhelm a Gundam, but one on one, there's an advantage.

And it depends who's driving the Gundam. Amuro Ray could easily take out 10 or more Transformers, especially Amuro at the peak of his Newtype abilities. It would take much planning and swarming to take down Amuro.

Transformers do die pretty easily. If you've seen the movie, then one could only think that one good shot from a Gundam would kill them. Especially if energon cube supply is down.

This is a tough question. The Gundams are pilotted by humans, but they are a little bit more mobile. however, depending on the Transformer, they are pretty tough. Optimus Prime is obviously the baddest one of them all. And on the Gundam side, Wing Zero is the big gun. So it would likely come down to those two. And my money is on Prime. Megatron kicked his ass in the movie, and it still almost didn't work.
