It's not good, but is it that bad?

Am I missing something? According to the article, it will stay on CN, but also be used on KidsWB! No less with their own titles. Sounds like the only thing that will change is that WB will air the same stuff it was gonna air anyway, but call part of it Toonami.

And the article doesn't even mention anything about losing Outlaw Star and Big O.

Is the fear that the KidsWB! attitude will get moved over to CN, or that DBZ and the like will be moved to the WB and censored even more?

    I'm just not getting it.

    That's basically right.

    Here we go.

    Toonami will now be:
KIDS'WB! 3pm - 5pm and will consist of Jackie Chan, Cardcaptors, Pokemon, Pkoemon: Johto

CARTOON NETWORK 5pm - 7pm and will likely consist of DBZ, Batman(or Superman), Sailor Moon, Gundam

And Kids'WB! will have one or two slots during it's line up where various Cartoon network action shows will air. Cartoon Network will have a slot or two where various action shows will air.

This June, the first crossover will hapen when Cardcaptors will jump to CN for two weeks. Then, in the fall, the second crososver will happen when Samauri Jack will jump over to Kids'WB! for awhile. Various Toonami/action shows will pop in and out of the two networks.

    Cool?

What about midnight run? Will they keep that? and if so what will the line up be.

If you don't wanna answer these, just let me know where to find the info, please.

Midnight Run will stay, thanfully, and it will keep the current DBZ/Big O line up for the foreseeable future.

Kids WB hasn't met a cartoon idea yet that it couldn't ruin.

Yeah, this actually could be a good thing. WB has a history of debuting good toons and then letting them go. I don't think I need to quote examples on THIS board.

But maybe this will ensure that the good toons they let go will always have a home. And maybe even more episodes made. If JLA is going to be a part of Toonami this sounds even more likely. Anyone know if it will be?

    The CN/KWB crossover conspiracy

    King Greyson I speaks:
Midnight Run will stay, thankfully, and it will keep the current DBZ/Big O line up for the foreseeable future.
All well and good, but will new Big O eps be made, do you think? 13 shows isn't much of a rerun pool, and it'll stagnate pretty soon if they don't refresh it. Admittedly I've become smitten with Dorothy ever since I noted how humanlike she's become in "A Legacy of Amadeus" and "Lost Cat", and I'm hoping her evolution will be allowed to continue in another dozen eisodes at least.
If KWB treats the new shows responsibly it might be a good idea...but with editing and cross-promotion I have to worry. Conversely, with laxer editing rules, Cardcaptors might be allowed to show episodes unedited/unspliced and flesh out Sakura and Li a bit more by adding extra episodes into the rotation.

Here are a few scenarios, and remember these are just take on the recent events:

    1) While both networks share the name Toonami, the CN and the kWB have two separate versions. CN's version returns to the 3 hour length (actually it should happen this fall). Certain shows stay on their respective networks (DB/Z, Gundam, Batman&Superman on CN, Pokemon, Zeta, X-Men:Ev on kWB). Other shows (read: ones that would fit the feel of the other channel's bloc) make either temporary or permanent jumps BB and MiB would make excellent additions to CN's Toonami.

    2) The changes are bad, very bad. Shows like DBZ (remember the first 2 seasons as done by Saban?) and Gundam, and others end up on kWB. Pokemon on CN's Toonami. The CN block remains at 2 hours.

    3) Take version 2, but only the changes end up sending both blocks down in flames.

at least i could get to see some shows that i've never seen before because i don't have cable. but i'm just worried that if cn shows get shown on kwb, they might be edited really crappily. hmmm....crappily...is that a word?

And I get to see shows I've never seen before since I don't get WB, of course they'll probably only bring crap over like Pokemon & Cardcaptors...

Hello. I came to talk. I've been thinking lately. About you and me. About what's going to happen to us, in the end. We're going to kill each other, aren't we? Perhaps later. I just wanted to know that I'd made a genuine attempt to talk things over and avert that outcome. Just once... I don't fully understand why ours should be such a fatal relationship, but I don't want your murder on my ... hands...

uh pokemon on cn. i am 14 and it upsets me to see people in my age group entertained by the show and its games. it always seems that to me cartoon network was made for older audiences since they dont show crap like that on cn.

Very true Inque, very true. Let's hope for a quick end to this fad.

The things that really stinks here, is that Keilner (spell) and the higher ups at Turner don't understand what they may be doing to their ratings. Toonami is in fact aimed at an older demographic, I don't know if the fans will stand for this. I think that the people who where running Toonami knew what they where doing, and it was working for them. And let's not forget Bandai they won't be to happy if CN screws over their Gundam franchise.

I'd like to see JL be one of the shows that CN and KWB switch back and forth now and again. Both CN and KWB will have a slot on their schedule for rotating shows. Also, Timm said that their hour long shows can be split into 30 minute shows, making it perfect for a half hour slot on the KWB slot!

Toonami/KidsWB definitely not a good thing!

This cross pollenation between Kids WB and Toonami would be a good thing in a perfect world. HOWEVER, I worry that the Toonami stuff will have to follow the stricter guidelines set by Kids WB's overzealous censors. It isnt unheard of since Toon Disney has to follow the tamer guidelines set by One Saturday Morning. Also keep in mind that the newer regime of Kids WB was governed over by Jamie Kellner, so his allegiance will probably be to support the evil edicts of the shrew that runs Kids WB and not the young turks and smart people that run Toonami. The people who run Kids WB could never have come up or support the concept of Toonami. In fact, they hate action adventure shows as evidenced by the lame offerings they've pawned off on us this season past. This new arrangement cannot bode well for the further evolution of Toonami, sorry to say.

Exactly! The die hard TOONAMI fans are worried that all the great Toonami shows will be edited down to nothing. But, honestly, how much more can show slike DRAGONBALL Z and GUNDAM WING be edited before they're just completely ruined? I don't think CN will have to follow KWB's guidelines, but if a CN shows airs on KWB, they may edit it down a notch. Cardcatpros begins on Toonami June 1st (http://www.searth.net/wfnews)
