    Nemalki's Update - Talkback

    Like This Thread!
    LOVE the graphics!!!!!!

    DOOD!

Anyway, excellent picks too. I'm saving the text for something to read at work, but I'd say he was spot on for all his pics..... except, Zoids: CC as Show of the Year???

    Pweeeeeaaase............

*Dives for cover from all the flames, since somehow everyone loves this show but me!*

    Thanks for the update, Nem!

    Wow. I've been referenced.

At this point I'm just going to say that if JC doesn't want to watch what Jeff "Toonami's #1 fan" Harris and everyone else around here agrees is one of the best Toonami's shows to come down the pipes in along time, well that's his right. Even if he's wrong.

    ...

While I may not agree with the Show of the Year (Mine would involve a little Mobile Fighting...), I do think Jeff did a "Chew bubblegum and kick butt" job (Just lacking the bubble gum).

    Once again, Jeff, good job.

(Now, all I need to see is Dan Drazen's Best/Worst of Sonic the Hedgehog 2K2 list, and my "2K2 in review" needs will be met)

Almost everybody under the sun believes that Cartoon Network will become a general audiences network in 2003, and that the Adult Swim New Year's Marathon will be the first step. I doubt it, but then again, nothing Cartoon Network does these days surprise me. It'll be a step in the right direction, but I don't know if it's one CN really wants to take.
Yes. They are going to take the step. They've been waiting for this for a while.

It will take a while to see lasting effects, because change is never instantaneous. But it will allow CN to bring in more 18-34 sponsors that would otherwise be considered racy for a "kids network." (I'm talking about liquor advertisements, for example) It would also allow CN to air 18-34 ads during the daytime, including general-purpose ads for Adult Swim. Though we haven't seen Futurama ads in the daytime, we have seen 18-34 ads (according to CN's standards in 2002, PG-13 movies and the Suncoast ad for Yu Yu Hakusho were 18-34 only, but both have aired today) in the daytime already, and 2003 just began.

Actually, CN mistakenly aired an "Adult Swim Action was brought to you by" bumper during Toonami today. Someone's been sleeping behind the wheel, heh.

Play the waiting game and you'll always be rewarded. There's plenty of good stuff coming to Toonami. CN will likely announce it all in February.

The reason CN hasn't focused on Toonami as much is because of their attempts to strengthen Adult Swim as a brand. Just read the articles. Their plans were to keep working on Adult Swim until the end of 1 Q 2003, and then refocus efforts on Toonami and Cartoon Cartoons for the rest of the year. That doesn't mean that new acquisitions haven't been made (there are deals in the works), but don't expect to see changes right away.

We've got the rumor of .hack//sign coming in February/March (I'm banking on March), the rumor of One Piece for the fall, a new season of He-Man, continued episodes of Dragonball, the finale of Dragonball Z, continued Armada, and perhaps something more. That's plenty of good stuff to look forward to, and there's still more for CN to announce.

But trust me, Kids WB won't be messing with Toonami again. That doesn't mean WB properties won't enter Toonami. Don't be surprised if a show like X-Men Evolution or Jackie Chan Adventures ends up in Toonami. But if they were, it would be of WS's own accord, not just because Kids WB "forced" them. Hey, they're good shows. I don't care for X-Men, but others certainly do.

It certainly means that Kids WB won't try another lame "Kids WB Toonami" stunt on their network. They don't even call it that anymore, do they? I think they realized that it's unprofitable to just slap a name on a pre-existing block, so they aren't going to try anymore.

I hope Char's Counterattack gets advertised during Toonami. Maybe during Super Saturday's if they are uncomfortable with doing it now.

I'm sorry, but I have to say that's the best use of the Capt. Murphy emoticon I've seen. ^_^

Wow... you've been referenced. And well too! Struck me in my weak spot, Power Rangers and how I stuck through crap I hated to get through to the good stuff, but didn't give Zoids CC that courtesy.

    You're right, Mr. O.

I'll give Zoids: CC another honest shot. I always complain that nobody does that for Power Rangers yet I turn up my nose at Zoids.

I'll give it its due shot and I'll defiantely be tuning in for the Final Four.

While I'm a tad upset about Gokou winning 'Hero of the Year', I'm really upset that he chose an unflattering picture of Evil-Lyn that makes her look like a baboon. (You can tell I hate J. Scott Campbell)

While I don't agree with all the choices (Gokou? Joker?), it's a great countdown. Nice work as always!

Not everyone can win, but I felt G-Gundam deserved a spot in there somewhere.

Master Asia had the greatest death scene of all Toonami time.

I have to say I like the picture of Evil-Lyn tho.... but then again I like J. Scott Campbell.

I think you're in for a treat JC. You may not like it as much as Zero but that's all right, I mean as much as I love CC I still find I have more fun watching Zero. I think if you stick it out to the point where the guy in my avatar shows up (first time in the series, not the final four) you'll either be pleasantly suprised and want to keep on watching, or you'll have already been hooked.

But I will promise you this. If you stick with Zoids: CC and honestly don't like it, I'll never use you sticking trough the PR dark era against you again.

Same here. I think Zoids: CC/GF deserved the awards it got, but G Gundam could've had a little more recognition. Great job overall, though.

Hehehe, I do like some of his Danger Girl works, but for MotU... it just doesn't work.

Well, actually, his work on the Thundercats/Battle of the Planets crossover scares me. That makes his MotU #1 cover look like Guerrica! *laughs*

Didn't mean to slight any particular show, particularly that one . . . I extended the categories on this very board, and yet, I only posted a few of them.

    Slacker . . . and I promised I wouldn't do that this year.

Got to add in those three categories I slighted this weekend.
What does the X stand for? It's definitely not Extreme. Extreme starts with E.
