    Dragonball (Z) = Web's Most Wanted

    Like This Thread!
    From DragonballZ.com:

Lycos has inducted Dragon Ball as the “Web’s Most Wanted” for 2002. As the most searched topic on the Internet for 2002, Dragon Ball becomes the first topic to ever repeat as the top topic on Lycos. This should come as no surprise to our inquisitive fans. You know that Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z are the best, and there seems to be no limit to the amount of information you can find on the Dragon Ball franchise. And, with Dragon Ball GT on the way, we will be opening a new saga in the Dragon Ball trilogy. Thanks for making us number one, again! Keep watching, searching and enjoying Dragon Ball!

Why so mad? Because DBZ is popular? Because people use Lycos as a search engine? Both??

Anyway, I thought it was cool news. I watched DBZ in May when it started and I was hooked. I wish CN finished the Frieza saga before starting the new episodes in September (I like watching shows in order).

I go to the website at least once a day since they seem to be fan friendly. Since I don't currently watch the show (again I prefer watching in episode order), I like going to the site to read the news and post about it here.

    Number 1: I hate Lycos.

Number 2: Lycos isn't the best search engine. You want the best, go for Google. Nothing beats Google, except for Dogpile.

That said, I don't care what Lycos said about DBZ being popular, or Britany Spears being the bottom of the charts, I just don't care. Just because they said DBZ is the most popular doesn't mean they represent the majority of the people.

Ill admit to contributing to that... But I was curious as to who some of the characters were that we dont see or hear of here... and to get real names, etc.

No problem, would rather take a bullet to the head or die a slow torturious death on the hot seat?

Glad to see that DBZ is still the number one talked about thing on the web (according to Lycos anyways).

Guy's, this is nothing new. DBZ has been near the top of the Lycos search engine for a LONG time, and has even been #1 a few other times in the past.

Just take a deep breath, and calm down...

For some reason, it seems like a lot of the members here hate the most popular things. It's like they say it to get attention or something. Strange.

    I agree.

Hey, I'm indifferent to this sorta thing. DBZ is popular, big ideal.

No, I'm not saying it to get attention. If I wanted or needed attention in this thread I could easily change my font color/size and mistype a bunch of words. I could also start or continue a fight...but I'm not that kind of person

Anyway, The only reason I reacted this was is because I'm sick of DBZ. Plain and simple. I was sick of it when it's first invasion of Toonami took place, and I'm still sick of it now. Your news basicly gives CN another foothold on reasons why they SHOULD allow it to continue to dominate the block...which is something I'm 100% against.

I'm sure I could stand here for 30 min typing a long story about why I can't stand DBZ and what it's done...But I think most of you already know that.
And Just so theirs no hard feelings my attack at DBZ wasn't an attack at you JTurner, peace!

Oh, I know. I'm talking about popular things in general . I can understand a few people hating them (there's always a cynic), but on these boards there are so many. I find that to be very strange so my only guess is that they want attention.

Unfortunately, that Lycos list is mostly based around fadability and what is hot around certain times of years or around certain events. Remember that Pokemon was the first big #1 on the Lycos list. The whole DB/Z thing will be over soon. Besides, I believe that most of those pages probably have the same stuff on them as every other pages, so who knows what they are looking for that they can't bookmark, thus avoiding Lycos.

We don't seem to be talking about the same series here. I'm talking about DBZ not Yugi-oh.

I agree with JTurner954, there are so many people here who dislike the show, I bet before DB/Z became the craze it is right now, I believe a lot of people actually used to like it

I think your only partially right. I think a majority of us are just tired of DBZ, and don't dislike it because it's the craze. For example I used to greatly enjoy the show...when I didn't know what was going to happen, or when I realized that battle sequences would take a month alone to come to a conclusion.

I always tell people this: "To me, DBZ is an animated soap opera. In real soap opera's once you find out who's Jonny's true brothers, sister's mother is, you really don't want to see a rerun of it again. The suspense is gone and you know what is going to happen."

Now for some reason This only happens to me with DBZ. I mean I should already know what happens with ReBoot or Tenchi...but I still find immense enjoyment watching these shows. However, once I've seen an episode of DBZ, the enjoyment is gone. Back in the beginning, it was DBZ that sucked me into the Toonami vortex and introduced me to all of you, a portion of the Toonami fan community. But it isn't what kept me there...

If You like DBZ thats just fine, just as it is if you like MSG, Tenchi, Outlaw Star, ReBoot, Batman, and a variety of diffrent Toonami shows. No show is better then the other in the grand scheme of things, but all of us can't help but pass judgment based on our own personal wants and likings...It's only Human.

So, Now that i've typed an Essay and threw myself horribly off topic. Sorry, I'm tired!

I'm not trying to step on anyone's toes...if anything I'm trying to avoid that (see my apology of sorts to JTurner). I'm just defending people who might be blamed for disliking DBZ because it's the craze...and not because they just don't like it.

I really don't know if I'm making any sense. If I am then listen to my opinion...if not, then just ignore me.

No really. If you don't count all the anime fanatics like us then your left with the younger generation. And is it true that the younger generation are the people who kept the ratings up for Toonami and CN itself. And if you noticed all the recent merchandice aimed for kids these days: Badly Done Action Figures, Party Excessories, Bed Sheets, Clock Radios, Magizines, Card Games, ect..... And almost all of these items are directed towards kids. And other than speaking to my friends about DBZ I'll only hear it when 5th graders are walking home from school, I overhear kids at the mall, or when they stop by my work place. Honestly, how many people would find a guy thats a big fan of DBZ or has lots of DBZ apperal who's in his mid 20's attractive? (Otaku's don't count! )
