How do YOU feel about DBZ ending soon?

Me... I'll miss it. But I'll be glad it's over, really. I love the show, but it's been played so many bloody time...

    Gah...

I just can't wait to see the rest of the series, and then I may never watch it again. 'Cept the movies.

I'm glad it's leaving, just because when it leaves there's an off chance that they'll stop rerunning it so much, which isn't that bad in and of itself, but it does lead to something just as annoying as constant DBZ reruns...

    ...constant WHINING about DBZ reruns.

I just think it's great that they're actually getting to the end of the series. I see it as a triumph of anime in this country. It was just a few years ago that we thought we'd never see past the Saiyan Saga. Anime was relatively unknown and had no respect. Shows like Gundam Wing weren't even being considered to ever air at all, let alone Cowboy Bebop. Now look at us; getting an anime network, a Miazaki movie is up for an Oscar!

Getting through all the sagas in this series really parallels how far we've come. The general public has, more or less, accepted anime. And whether you like it or not, DBZ had a lot to do with that. Now, like with young fans who initially got hooked on this show, it's time for their perceptions of anime to be expanded beyond DBZ. There's still work to be done, but I think the hardest part is behind us now. It's just a matter of time.

I feel pretty much 50/50 about it.

I'll be honest. I watched it from start to now and I'll see it through. One one side, I'm happy it's ending. It's done a lot for animation as a whole, not just anime, IMO.

On another, I don't think I'm ecstatic(sp?) that the show is ending. I enjoyed it, but I know it's run its course.

But once the show is over. . .all I have to wonder is "What now?"

I hated this series the first time I saw it 11 years ago, and 10 million reruns on CN have not improved my opinion of it. CN will be much improved without it. Bring on some new shows!!

I think it sucks now that were now the end. No New episodes will mean a million reruns and a dbgt thats just not the same as db and dbz.

Re: How do YOU feel about DBZ ending soon?

I'm 50/50. I want it to end because then it would get extremely repetetive. But I don't want it to end becuase then GT will air (like a year later).

It's not ending soon. The ending will be in the spring. At the rate of one new ep per week.

DBZ still has like 14 episodes to air after this tuesdays season finale...which means another smaller season in the fall. They will still have DBGT to air and since it is somewhat of a continuation i am betting that DBGT will take DBZ's spot for a season or two...knowing CN they will probaly split DBGT into two seasons if they don't combine some of GT with the airing of the last season of DBZ. Meaning we still will be getting a fair share of Dragonball Z and GT, which are the same series really. Not to mention Dragonball has a few good size series left...and will continue to air til it ends, and then we will get a few more reruns of that and seeing how it is 200+ episodes...after it is all over we still may get 2 years of it. Once DBGT and DBZ are both done with we will also be getting reruns of that satrting all the way back in the saiyan saga and working its way through...so in reality i don't see a Toonami free DBZ for quite some time...if ever. There is enough episodes between the series to run them again and again forever.

They will be rerunning DBZ from the beginning, in order, and THEN they will begin running GT. You got the order wrong there, I just wanted to prevent any mixups.

Well, I won't lose any sleep over it. The show is alright, but too much is too much. I prefer Dragonball anyway. So, I really don't care that DBZ is ending soon.

I pretty much feel 50/50 on this. Seeing it end would only mean re-runs after re-runs after.. yeah, you know, which would get really annoying. But I've been missing out BIG time on the episodes in the Cell Saga (which sucks because Cell is pretty awsome!) so I guess it'll be okay. I just need to find some money and get the dvd's if I have to. Waiting for GT would take too long.

I, too, feel about 50/50 about DBZ going off the air. It's a fun show, but I still think its time to move on to other shows just as deserving of airtime.

Hijacked Simpsons quote aside, it's time for DBZ to go off and for all of toonami's fans to move on. Let's get rid of DBZ before it starts giving off the lingering stench of a dead woodchuck under a porch becomes worse.
