Point - Counter Point: PPG Action Animation or Fwickin' Sketch Comedy?

    Like This Thread!
I say that is has MORE than enough places already on Cartoon Network and that it really dosen't belong on Toonami.

It's not action cartoons in the tradition of what's suppose to be on Toonami. It's actioned sketch comedy.

    What do YOU think?

What I'm really thinking is how to pronounce fwickin' and when the hell it's gonna stop raining. But to be on topic I wouldn't consider it serious action-animation so it's definetly more comedy to me. Not that I find it very funny but more than it is action.

Well it's... kind of both, actually. With the strengths and weaknesses of both. I guess. I'm not a fan of the show, but I've seen it enough times to get a feel for it.

All the episodes are shorts, but they still do continuity between some episodes. The villians are all charicatures, but the saving-the-day action isn't any worse than any other superhero cartoon.

It's not so much a straight out action show as it's more of an comedy/action series. Dragon Ball is somewhat like this, although not as much. Do I think it belongs on Toonami? Yes and No. It belongs to be there more then Hamtaro and almost as much as DB, judging by the type of stories the show tells. But I don't think it should be taking up a slot on Toonami that could go to another series which isn't being played three times a day outside of the block.

RE: Point-Counter Point About PPG on Toonami

I believe that PPG fits better as an action/comedy cartoon on regular CN as a Cartoon Cartoon Show.

I was gonna say that....so, uh, agreed.
If you get put in solitary, it ****ing sucks. I was put in there just because they had me in double-lock maximum security, and it's the most tedious ****ing thing. I can't think of anything more boring. There's a Japanimation cartoon I've been trying to watch on Cartoon Network called Witch Hunter Robin, and that's almost as boring.

I agree that the issue isn't defined so much by whether PPG is action or comedy (although I consider it more comedy than action, come on now, if there wasn't humor would anyone watch it JUST for the action?), but that PPG is shown outside the Toonami block, whereas the only other Toonami shows that have been shown outside the block are the ones that got moved to Adult Swim Action. So no, I don't think PPG belongs on Toonami when you could be using that time slot for something that wouldn't get ANY airplay on Cartoon Network other than on Toonami.

But anyway PPG is leaving Toonami soon so we can all stop whining about it now. (-:

PowerPuff Girls was meant to be a part of Cartoon Cartoons and that's probably where the show should stay.

Well, that's not really true, but the point is that the Cartoon Cartoons get more overexposure than anything else on CN, so there's no need to have PPG on Toonami when the time slot could go to something else.
